Lucy Weasley left the Three Broomsticks, with a grin, stomach full of butterbeer. She had to consider now, Where else did she want to go in the pristine little village? SheLucy loved this place, almost as much as she did Diagon Alley. Even for someone with a magical upbringing there were always new experiences to be had in magical shops and Lucy still approached such things with a little wonder, Lucy thought about where would be best to go next. The Hogsmeade branch of her uncle's joke shop was always amazing. The atmosphere, and the products both. Maybe she'd even find family there. She definitely intended to visit before the day was out.
She considered the Shrieking Shack, having heard the story of its real purpose from her uncle Ron, the place was rather less impressive to her than it could have been. She dismissed the idea fairly quickly. She passed by Scrivenshaft's quill shop, and considered it. Her father would have encouraged her to purchase new stationary. To always have her gear ready to go. But she was already overprepared, and the place bored her. Soon, she was walking by little side-street she knew contained Madame Puddifoot's tea shop. She considered going their in search of a mug of hot chocolate, but the idea of cute, happy couples left her pulling a face. "I'll pass." she sighed under her breath. That's when she approached the perfect spot. Just right for right now.
Lucy had been looking forward to her trip to Hogwarts ever since the school year had started. The chance for a change of scenery was always alluring, especially when it would give her the chance to visit one of her favourite places. Somewhere her father would likely have been mortified to see her leaving, with several full bags. Honeydukes. Percy Weasley had never begrudged her the occasional sweet but she wanted a little more than one every now and then. Lucy loved sweets. More than just the flavours, she loved the colours, and the many magical effects that were available from Honeydukes. She beamed as she looked about the store, trying to decide on which of the legendary store's many delights she would sample today. Lucy continued to stroll her way around the store, she was just studying a box of assorted magical chocolates,, when she felt an impact against her back. Lucy fell, and not only that she felt her arm sweep an array of sweets from the shelf.
"Watch it!" She growled without seeing who had hit her yet, pulling out her wand to begin to put the products she and spilt right as quickly as possible. Lucy slowly turned to see who had bumped into her. Lucy was a friendly girl and she had been in a good mood, but there were times where her temper would flare up. She felt immediately guilty for the way she had spoken to the person who had probably colided with her entirely by accident. "I'm sorry. You just really startled me."

Dio went to Hogsmaede alone, he didn’t see the purpose of going with friends. Oh wait… He didn’t have any. Not that he cared, he didn’t need them. What he did need was a new stock of his favorite strawberry gum. Luckily for him the candy shop in the village had it. Or else he’d have to owl his uncle and ask him to send it. We went straight through the village towards the candy shop. The cutesy village looked like a fairy tale town compared to the streets of Knockturn where he lived.
“Awesome, they’ve still got it,” he grinned and counted how much he could get with the money he brought. The shop was crowded but still he could hear a group whisper. “That’s him.” Ah.. He recognized that voice. A fifth year Slytherin that had been caught in one of his famous traps. The head of the house had been furious but it was all worth it. As usually people’s surviving instincts disappointed him. Dio had to break it up or the boy would’ve gotten serious damage. Suddenly he was pushed, he’d seen it coming but wanted to know what was going to happen. Dio fell back, this one was stronger than he’d expected. The impact caused him to hit someone behind him/sideways. He heard a female voice yell but didn’t pay attention to her yet. Dio wanted to catch the face of whoever pushed him. “You’re a freak, Greyback. All you Greyback wolf children are as mad as your father,” the voice that belonged to the boy who pushed him looked back as the group left the shop. “Fucking psychopath, I hope you get expelled soon.” Dio glanced at the group, especially the tallest boy. Ah a seventh year Slytherin. The blonde snake grinned in amusement, he found his next target.
However that target was gone and he was laying on the ground along with another. Dio got up and scooped up the coins and packs of gum that’d fallen too. Then he looked at whoever was pulled into all this. “Weasley,” his lips curled up in amusement. Everyone had heard about the famous oddball wizarding family. “Don’t worry, they’ll get what’s coming to them. They have no idea that they’re doing me a favor. I ehh.. I’m sorry you were pulled in. He was stronger than I accounted for.” There was no reason to be mean or cruel towards this girl. Sadly, hopefully she’d give him the chance. He’d spotted some fire just before. Dio was curious to find out more. It seemed that it wasn’t only the two of them that’d dropped, plenty of shop items scattered on the floor. “Damn the shop is quite the mess.” His head turned a little to the side to watch the little redhead. “We could make him pay for all this. With that little fire in you, I’m sure you’ve got some interesting ideas,” he mused. “It’s your chance to prove not all Hufflepuffs are dull.”

Dio Greyback... That definately wasn't a good thing, Lucy's first impression was this one's reputation, cruel, volatile, dangerous. Someone her father would have told her to avoid at all costs, the descendent of the man who had savaged her uncle Bill and changed his life forever. But of course, she knew not to judge people by their parents. God, if anyone had thought to judge her by her father, Percy. Either way he'd apologised and Lucy was not impressed with the people who had started this. She hated those judgemental cretins like the ones that had started all of this... Lucy knew that this boy was trouble, even disregarding who his father was. But she was also bored, and no stranger to wanting to make trouble. She was often compared to her aunt, and Ginny had once carried a reputation for potent and nasty hexes that she had used liberally on those who had bullied her friends.
Pushing the thoughts of the others' dangerous reputation out of her mind, Lucy paid for her treats and smirked to the source of her entertainment, deciding that it was time to rebel and live a little she loved her dad but she wasn't under his yolk right now and if she didn't make the most of that some times her chance would be gone. "You're on, Greyback." She told the other. Noting that even though she was about to enter into this dangerous deal she would keep any eye on things and make sure that Dio didn't go too far either. A few hexes wouldn't be the worst idea, even if she expected the other might go a bit too far.
Lucy stalked out of thee shop, and followed the crowd of students away from the sweet shop, watching as they laughed their leader actually having the hide to brag, they'd brushed off the collision with Lucy and were simply proud of their harassment of Dio. Lucy produced her wand, and with a word, she bought a yell from the older boy as bats began to free themselves magically from the boy's nose and flap off into the sky. Of course she hadn't know one of the others was terrified of the creatures. He peeled away from his friends simply running for it.

Was that a smirk he caught? Perhaps this little Weasley was different from the other Puffs after all. This was Percy Weasley's daugher right? His uncle had told him about the Weasleys but he found none similarities between the two. It was worth finding out. Dio followed the Hufflepuff to the cashier and watch her pay for her items. Then she turned to speak to him. Her words brought a big grin on his face. "See you outside, Weasley," he winked and went to pay for his own goods. Of course he could've stolen them. But he knew what it was like to work in a shop so he didn't. He'd support small family businesses. Had this been a big multinational, he wouldn't have thought twice about stealing. When everything was paid for, he pocketed his stuff and went out.
There he witnessed an unexpected scene. He had planned for Weasley and him to come up with a plan together. Instead he saw that she'd gone ahead without him. His eyes widened in surprise. Chuckling he approached her and leaned his arm on her shoulder, looking at the tough seventh year. "That's what you get for poking at a badger. Next time she'll claw your eyes out," he warned the group. "You guys are lucky she got you first. If it were up to me there'd be worse consequences," he smirked sadistically. The group ran off and finally Dio was allowed to shoot into laughter. Pure laughter, not sadistic laughter. "You little clever bitch. How did you know about his biggest fear? You were even faster than me with finding out," he asked in for once true curiosity. "Going off without me. I should have you punished," he shook his head in disapproval. "But it was entertaining so I'll give you a pass," he winked. "It's bullshit what people say. You're not at all like your father. More like your uncle George."
The Slytherin calmed down from his laughing fit and went in his pocket to find a cigarette. Which he lightened. It tasted even better after a great laugh. It'd been too long since something remotely exciting happened. "Honestly, Slytherins aren't so tough and cool as they think. You've seen that yourself today."

Lucy couldn't help but swell with a sense of rebel pride. Percy Weasley had taught her responsibility but her father had also taught her how good it felt to rebel, by pure virtue of being so strict and rigid. She laughed as Dio called after the boys who had been harassing him and honestly, Lucy knew they deserved it, even if this was likely to get her into hot water in the long run. She didn't care, it was worth it. She turned to Dio as he asked her the question about the Slytherin victim. She shook her head. "Didn't know anything about it. Believe it or not my Aunt Ginny used to be known for her bat-bogey hexes... 'Much as she's a professor now, she's the inspiration for some of my best mischief." She confessed with a grin. As the boy continued to talk about her family, that favorable comparison to her father, that reference to her uncle George, Lucy was a little surprised, and quite proud.
"Thanks. My dad's uptight but he's not all bad... It means a lot that you'd compare me to George." It really did, Her uncle George had lost an ear in the fight against You-Know-Who and still kept it up. He had lost his twin and he didn't let it ruin his sense of humour. He was one of the strongest people that Lucy Weasley had ever known and that comparison, even if it was just meant to be a reference to George's trickster nature was high praise in the girl's mind. "How would you punish me anyway?" She joked feeling very much more comfortable with Dio than she probably should have after one small pleasant exchange. She was happy to be friendly to this boy if he was friendly to her... The thought of her uncle Bill's maimed face was distant from her mind, but the conversation about her family was starting to bring it up. Until the comment about Slytherins not being so tough reached her.
"I don't judge people based on school house." She said slightly more firmly than she meant to. "Severus Snape was a snake and he was a hero. Peter Pettigrew was a Gryffindor and his brand of 'bravery' wasn't exactly inspiring." She took the conversation in a slightly serious direction, before she caught herself, she didn't want to bring the mood down too much. "You want another butterbeer?" she offered with a grin.

This was fun. Dio Greyback was actually enjoying the unexpected company of another. He always believed he didn't need friends, just family. But perhaps he was wrong. Even if it only lasted for today, this would be an entirely new experience. The Slytherin calmed his laughter and ended with a wicked grin. "Well that only means you've got a great instinct. That's the strongest key to survival. Always trust your instinct. In times that logic fails you, it is your only ally," he shared his own way of living with the Hufflepuff. "You Weasleys are a lucky bunch for being such a big family," he told the other. "I've always wanted a lot of brothers and sister but now I've met them, they don't seem to want a family. It's kinda sad," he shrugged it off. "I believe that family should always stick together." That was what he wanted but his family was as broken as could be. His father didn't want to see or hear from him. His mother was send to Mungo's by his uncle that he was living with now. According to uncle Vito, his mother had been abusive and sooner or later Dio would be dead because of her stupidity. Dio did not agree with his uncle on that matter. All the pain his mother send him trough made him stronger and more in balance with his instinct. If anything he was grateful for the scars and lessons. Hopefully he'd soon be strong enough to be accepted in the great pack and become one of them.
The Slytherin shrugged when Weasley thanked him for what he said. "I can't stand up tight people. If I had a dad like that I'd have died of boredom by now." Then he thought about his own father. A bitter taste formed in his mouth. He wanted to admire the man and become like him but it hurt being pushed away and ignored all the time. Lamb got the gift. And while Dio was happy for his little half brother. he was also quite jealous. "But I suppose it's better to have a dull dad than having a cool dad that ignores your existence," he said bitterly. The topic of punishments made him excited again. A sadistic grin played on his face. "I can't tell you, that'd spoil the fun," he said. "But as you escaped yours. I suppose I can tell you. It's more of a gift than a punishment. I might have added you to my list of possible candidates for my next obstacle course. It'll be great I can tell you that. Perhaps I should one day make one for myself and then wipe my memories of creating that one so I can surprise myself," he noted that.
"Why would you judge someone by their house? That's just stupid. The whole house system is bullshit anyways," he argued and shrugged. For him there were only dull and cool people. Houses said nothing, he just used that often in a term because people did value it. "Butterbeer? Do you want to poison me with that creamy piss drink?" Dio liked fruity sweets but creamy stuff was just disgusting. "Let's try if we can get some real drinks. How about another challenge? I'd like a gin tonic, lets see if I can get it. Would you try to get yourself a proper drink as well? Or would you rather stick with your creamy hell."

Discussing family with this particular boy felt very strange. Mostly because of the interactions between their families in the past. Fenrir Greyback had, after all tried to murder her brother, and had successfully reduced his face to a ruin, and left him with wolf-like tendencies for the rest of his life. Lucy didn''t want to visit the sins of the father upon the son, or any such nonsense. She wasn't the type to judge one man for the sins of another in any case, but it was eerie. Knowing that this boy was the offspring of that man. Knowing that he was so jealous of her large family, the same one his father had tried to fracture. She heard his comments about his siblings not wanting to be a family and she gave him a look of sympathy. Very strangely, she was reminded of the stories of how her father had acted during the second wizarding war, trying to avoid his relatives. She was silent, not sure what words could possibly mean anything in that moment.
The topic drifted to school houses. "You're the one talking about how 'Slytherins' aren't tough." She said emphasising the name of the house, calling the young man out on his own remark that judging based on house was stupid. Lucy didn't have any issue with Dio but she was keenly aware that he was being hypocritical there. She made this remark with a smile on her face. There was no hostility in her chiding him. Indeed just the opposite she was rather amused, as she considered the other. She honestly didn't know what to make of this boy right now. He had defied expectations so far. Honestly as much as she would never have bullied him, or judged him based on his past, she had made similar assumptions about dio to the people that had harassed him in the sweet shop. She was glad to be mistaken, however.
When Dio suggested that they look to get stronger drinks that was the first sign to Lucy that some of his reputation might be justified. She didn't know what to say to that. At first she just considered walking away before she got into anymore trouble, but then she wondered what her uncles, or her aunt might do. A lot of them had been troublemakers and adventurous souls, but would they have taken this sort of risk. Quite aside from the risks of getting caught there was also the danger of a drunk Dio to consider. "I don't know." Lucy admitted. "It could be fun. but if we get busted we're probably not gonna be allowed back into the village this year." She said, hoping to convince Dio that it wasn't worth the risk. She was genuine in that concern. Trips to Hogsmeade were a privilege, and it was a lot nicer to be in the village than it was the castle.

Lucy Weasley was not the type of person Dio usually hung out with. If he hung out with people that was. The only people he eagerly tried to get attention from were his half siblings and not all were happy to see him. He didn't really have friends. This odd meeting was the closest he could think of he'd ever gotten to making a friend. Unexpected but somehow he was cool with it. Lucy wasn't the worst to hang out with, he supposed.
The Slytherin blinked when he was called out but his surprised face turned quickly into a grin. "You're a clever one, aren't ya? Yep, you're right I'm being a big hypocrite. I'm using stereotypes even though it goes against my own values," he admitted and shrugged. "Sadly the world is based on prejudgment." Dio drew his wand and poked her waist in a friendly matter without casting a spell. Then he chuckled and put his wand safely back. It was quite the unique wand. Unlce Vito made it himself, he managed to obtain a claw from his father Fenrir Greyback and made it into the core. His wand was the closest he'd gotten to his father but he doubted the old man even knew about this.
Dio's face turned into light disappointment when Lucy started doubting his idea. "Come on, just one drink for the taste. We won't get drunk from that. They won't notice we had something strong," he tried to persuade her. A part that made drinking stronger stuff fun was that it was forbidden. It gave an extra kick. Something the little bad boy longed for in life. Oh it was being caught that she was worried about? Dio smirked. "Then we have to make sure we don't get busted," he whispered with a mischievous tone in his voice. "What will it be? A drop of temporary aging potion? Polyjuice? I snatched a hair of his pretty head. He is seventeen if I recall and if I get caught he'd get in trouble, not me. Who would you have to turn in however?" Dio had a plan for everything.
