 Midnight had only just come and gone when Timmy found his face getting pecked at by a bird. At first he believed that it was only a dream but the pecking became more rapid in pace and fierce in nature, causing the eleven year old to wake with a groan from his slumber. The bird dropped a note into his lap before flying out the open window.

A sigh left him as he swung his legs over the edge of his four poster bed and dressed himself head to foot in black clothing. The note had been written rather messily but he had become used to deciphering the handwriting of his only friend. What could his friend possibly be wanting from him this time?
It wasn't the first time that Kane had woken him up from his sleep to do something that could have waited until daylight to set up. In fact it was Kane that had gotten him into nine detentions so far in his Hogwarts career. He made his way through the common room before climbing out of the portal; never having stopped to fix his bedhead.
"What is it this time Kane? Another nightmare?"

Kane was finding having a friend very enjoyable. He tended to just expect Timmy to go along with what he wanted to do and so far, he had found it easy enough to manipulate Timmy into getting involved in most of his whims. Not that he was always doing that, Timmy truly was his best friend, after all. Sometimes he did things Timmy wanted to do too.
He'd had a brilliant idea though when he'd been woken from his own sleep by a nightmare. He was never able to go back to sleep after them so now had seemed a great time as any to get his plot rolling.
Seeing Timmy emerge, he shrugged. "Well, yeah but that's not why I'm here," he said as he ruffled Timmy's hair before moving down towards where the staircases were.

As his best, and probably only friend ruffled his hair, instinct caused him to squeeze his eyes closed. It was a natural reaction to this very thing... especially for a kid with his background and after what he had experienced growing up. As the Slytherin made his way down the staircase however, Timmy quickly followed. This was his friend after all and he wasn't about to let some school rule stop him from being with him if he needed him. "So why are you here then?"He made sure to keep his voice low, not wanting to attract the attention of a prefect... or worse... a professor...
