let the race war begin...
For eighteen years the wizarding world has known peace. Death Eaters who willingly sided with Voldemort were locked away in Azkaban, and those who fought against them in the battle of Hogwarts were allowed to become Aurors following a special ruling by Kingsley Shacklebolt... the new Minister for Magic. Beneath the watchful gaze of Shacklebolt, the Order of the Phoenix, and Dumbledore's Army wizarding Britain thrived whilst their muggle counterparts crumbled beneath the grip of a recession.
But as the years passed, Kingsley grew older... and ultimately decided to retire in December 2016.
Two candidates new candidates, a Mrs. Hermione Granger-Weasley and a Ms. Dolores Umbridge (who much to the distaste of the younger generation was allowed to keep her role in the wizarding world following the claim of having been under the imperius curse) went head to head to buy the votes of the community for the now vacant position. The world over was sure that Umbridge wouldn't win, they could smell a snake hiding in the grass... except when the results were revealed the world had a heart attack. It seemed that the public found Mrs. Granger-Weasley too young to lead their country and had settled for the blood supremacist, Umbridge.
During her first six months in office she made many new decrees against the 'filthy halfbreeds' that she had protested so strongly against during her campaign, many of which marked an innocent as guilty for the crimes of a few. Tempers boiled and eventually the races declared war. Decades of peace between wizards and the other races had broken down within one year of Umbridge having taken office. There are no allies, simply each race fighting to make their needs and pain heard.
In fact, there was only one thing that they could agree upon. Hogwarts, which had been rebuilt to a standard where one couldn't tell that many people had lost their lives within its grounds nineteen years ago simply by looking at it, was a casualty free zone... but for some races that was all they saw it as. In fact, some see it as a recruitment ground.
Which race will outwit and outlast the others? Will this be the end of the wizarding world as we know it? Time will only tell...
