Mary sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose as the man began to argue. She was tired, she was stressed, she didn't seem to be about to get any help here, she had no idea as to what she was actually supposed to be doing and she hadn't the faintest idea how to go about this. It was safe to say that she was not having a good day, and arguing with civilians about whether or not she could find someone based on how well he knew his way around a hospital was not likely to make it any better. For all that she knew, the damn werewolf that had started the whole catastrophe was in France by now, and she had no hope of catching anyone by herself in any case. She needed someone from the Werewolf Capture Unit, and yet no one was turning up. Mary was going to be having words with someone or other as soon as she got back to headquarters but for now, there was very little that she could do other than watch and wait. Mary was no coward but neither was she a fool, and she had no plans to take on a dangerous werewolf single-handedly. Better witches and wizards than her had lost their lives doing so. Admittedly, there was some sense in what the Seer was saying. To be honest, though, Mary would never have seriously considered the possibility of an inside job in any case. Anyone working at St. Mungo's would be either a Healer or somehow associated with the discipline and no Healer would ever dream of launching an attack such as this on a hospital full of innocent civilians. So far as she was concerned, it was out of the question. "Thank you for your help, sir." she responded, and watched him step away before walking off in another direction.

Blaise had been able to pull the patient out of the rubble and had been able to settle him down. Hearing his name being called he scrambled though the wreckage towards the spell damage head healer. He nodded at his fellow head of department and leaned down to examine the patient. He groaned. Wyatt was right the patient had definitely been attacked by a vampire. "It must have been heard the call of the wolves last night," he said with a touch of venom in his voice. He was not fond of the vampire race at all as there was nothing that could be done to fix it like there was with the werewolves. They were also more likely to kill outright unlike the werewolf who would want to turn rather than kill though there are those that would kill as well. Not wanting to head back to office and possibly wake Gen and knowing where his stores were kept he waved his wand and conjure the necessary potions required. He knelt down and holding one of the bottles but before getting the patient to take the potion he checked the mouth area and also sniffed. "I don't think the patient ingested any blood. It doesn't look like it to me, anyway. I don't think the vampire was intent of trying to make new vampires it was just trying to restrict the possibility of new werewolves. It is easier to make a werewolf than it is to make a vampire after all," Blaise said. "Plus it is not likely that a hospital patient attacked by vampire and given it's blood with turn anyway as the disease only takes the strong and already sick witch or wizard will not be considered strong." Opening the victims mouth in poured in the blood replenishing potion and forced him to swallow.

Aftermath of the attack -healers + victims + open |
Sable slinked back into her mother's room and transformed back in human form. She had followed the vampire until it had left as it has suddenly appeared and then continued to pace around the hospital and watched as the werewolves wreaked havoc. If had entered her mother's room she probably would have turned back but it had left it alone. The werewolves also seemed to have left her untouched. Whether it was just the seriousness of Sorcha's condition or something about Sorcha herself Sable didn't know but she was thankful to an extent that her mother was not dead or even worse a werewolf.
Opening the door she peered out and surveyed the carnage once more and straightening out her designed robes that she looked attractive, who knows she might catch the eye of an attractive healer, strode confidently out into the hallway. Eventually she came across a couple of healers examining a patient and discussing the possibility of a vampire.
"Oh yes, there was a vampire here. Saw it myself," she said silkily examining the two healers. One of them was dark and very attractive. Like the vampire from last night there was something familiar about him. The other one she had no idea who he was and frankly was not overly interested.

`THE AFTERMATH
@alan , @vanessa /open That night, Samantha had wandered farther from home than she had thought. The howls, the screams, she could them all, but she couldn't do anything. No one at her job knew what she was besides one person. Even though Samantha wanted to go to check on her friends she couldn't. They would have been terrified of her. Instead, Samantha waited it out. She didn't need to get call from her anyone. As soon as she had thrown on some clothes she out the door and heading towards the Hospital.
Her eyes went wide at the chaos in front of her. "Oh my god." she said softly as she looked around. Samantha headed towards the reception desk. She needed to know who was on shift last night. When she saw the name she dropped the clipboard and took a step back. Frantically she looked around, "Vanessa!" she called out as she began searching for her friend. Please, let her be okay, she thought. The last thing she wanted was her best friend to be terrified of her for the rest of their lives. "Nessa!" she called out again. Sure, she should have been helping patients, but Vanessa was like family to her. She'd been the first person to talk to her when she moved to the United Kingdom... after she had murdered an entire family because she had lost control.

`the aftermath
@alan , @samantha /open The entire night was a blur. Almost like having a really bad hangover. Vanessa's head was throbbing. I must have hit it on something, she thought as her eyes fluttered open. The room she was in was still dark and Vanessa wasn't sure why. Her eyes scanned the room. She was alone, but what was she doing on the floor? Slowly, Vanessa sat up and propped herself against the closest wall. "What happened?" she asked herself. The room she was in was torn apart. As she took a better look at the room some of her memory of the night before came back. That's when she began to check herself for cuts and scratches. Sure, most of her friends were werewolves, but that didn't mean she wanted to become one. Or maybe she did, but not now... Not with all the crazy ministry things going on.
Once she was sure that she hadn't been attacked she leaned her head back just as she was sure that she heard her name being called, but Vanessa was unable to call out and lost consciousnesses.

"Thank Merlin," he released a big breath filled with tension. If Blaise told him there were no signs of the victims having gotten blood in them, he believed the man. Zabini was among their finest healers, Alan held huge respect for the man. He nodded at the older healer, what he said made sense. Alan blinked up at a woman who he'd never seen before but was suddenly standing next to them. She confirmed there was a vampire. Alan gave her a quick nod but decided not to spend more attention where there were people still dying. He continued to help the potions master as best as he could. One would think the more injured people one saw, at some point he could get used to it. Alan didn't. His stomach turned and heart broke. "Who would do such a thing?" Alan whispered in disbelief. "We're a neutral organization, we help everyone. That's the vow we swore. And still... They take it out on all these innocent people,,, I don't understand what they try to accomplish. They only prove the Ministry's point," he mumbled in despair and looked at his colleague with big concern. Alan bit his lip. "I need to check my own department. See if they'd gotten anyone there too," he told Zabini. "Ex-healer Thomspon will assist you. I'll get back when I get the impression things are under control," he nodded towards both and went to the Spell Damage floor. It seemed that they'd gotten here too even if the damage was less. He quickly checked upon his patients. Most seemed unharmed but there was one mutilated almost beyond recognition. The man was already dead, that much was obvious. Gilderoy Lockhart... a long term patient. He swallowed at the sight. But his attention was quickly drawn in by a familiar voice. "Vanessa!" The worried head of department hurried towards his friend. There he saw Healer Davis. What was she doing here? "Ma'am they need you at your own department, it got the hardest hit of all. Your people need guidance," he told the older woman. It was odd, Samantha almost gave him the impression she'd just arrived. Whatever, he needed to check upon his own staff. "Are you alright? Can you stand?" tags: blaise zabini , @chris , @samantha , @vanessa

`THE AFTERMATH
@alan , @vanessa /open Samantha knew that she needed to head up to her department, but her friend meant the world to her. She wasn't going to walk away until she found Vanessa. Just when Samantha was about to give up hope she saw someone leaned up against the wall. Immediately she scrambled towards the person. Samantha gave a half smile. It was Vanessa, but she was unconscious. "who could do this?" she said as tears rolled down her face and she brushed some blonde hairs from Vanessa's face.
Sam almost jumped at the sound of a voice coming from behind her. As she looked over her shoulder she sighed with relief. It was just Alan. "I'm fine, but-" she looked over towards Vanessa again. "I just found her like this..." samantha stood and faced her friend's boss. suddenly, she was filled with anger. where was he when all this happened? wasn't she his friend? "how could you let this happen? where were you?" she hissed, "if she dies-" samantha had to stop herself. she shook her head and walked towards the doorway, "just help her." she said and then headed towards her department.

"Ex" Healer. That hurt. There vampire hadn't given up her desire to help. She had been a professional healer for close to a century. Surely Alan knew that she would never have given up on doing what she thought was right, and what she knew was good. Surely his words weren't a jab at her. Either way, Chris had to let them roll off her now, had to tell herself that they were meaningless, or she would soon find herself leaving St. Mungo's again. A sigh left her lips but she managed to avoid giving any other sort of acknowledgement. Luckily, being a dead body had some perks, such as a lot more control over usually involuntary movements.
"Mister Zabini." Chris said bluntly, acknowledging the other as she got to work beside him, treating the wounded patient. "I'm glad to see you're still working here. How's the daughter?" She asked conversationally. It was a coping mechanism she had developed for dealing with such darkness. treat it casually because in the end if it wasn't mundane, it was horrible and it would break you. The vampire had seen dark things in her life, and had dealt with crises before. She looked over the victim, this one had been drained of blood? What? "I thought it was just the werewolves behind this?" She snarled feeling a wave of contempt for whatever cretin had done this.

There was no response from Vanessa, she was unconscious. He knelt down and checked for a pulse. Thank Merlin she wasn't dead. The spell damage healer checked for wounds. No werewolf inflicted wounds, thank heaven. But upon checking her head, he felt a big bruise at the back of it. Nothing he couldn't heal but her brain probably got a hit too. Alan got up again and wanted to walk to the potions cabin in the room to get something to wake her up as well as something against dizziness. However as he stood again, the other department head stood before him. She started blaming him which made him frown. He couldn't tell her why he wasn't here. "I assure you there were other urgent matters on why I couldn't be here. But how about you? I've been here for a while now but you just arrived? Where were you when a werewolf patient went berserk? How could you have let that happen? Most havoc is done at your department and where were you?" Alan calmed himself, he never got angry the wolf in him had taken control just now. "Forget it, there is no need to point fingers," he sighed and rubbed his forehead. "Nessa isn't going to die. She might wake up with a massive concussion however," he told the older woman. "She won't be able to work for a few days, maybe weeks."
Now he no longer waited and went to the cabin to grab the potions. He put them on a table next to a bed and knelt down to lift his colleague in the bed with the remaining strength he had. The waking potion had to fume under her nose so she breathed in the scent and would awake. Alan did just that and hoped it work.

`the aftermath
@alan , @samantha /open If Vanessa had been conscience for the argument her two friends were having she most likely would have revealed that they were both in the same situation and neither of them were to blame. Vanessa had put together who had been behind the attack before she thought she had locked herself in the room they were in now.
Vanessa breathed in the waking potion, but it took her a few seconds to open her eyes because she really didn't want to. She groaned from the pain and remembered that she'd been stuck over the head from behind. The first person that she saw was her boss and her best friend. In that moment she didn't care if it was inappropriate or not... Vanessa pulled Alan into a hug. Seeing his face meant that the attack on the hospital was over. Vanessa pulled back from the hug, "Werewolves." she whispered. She hadn't been around for the part when the vampires started to come in changing people too.

Alan was relieved when he saw that Vanessa was waking up. Surely he knew she would however seeing her unconscious like that did scare him. "Easy! Easy!" He hadn't expected Vanessa to hug him like that. The head of the spell damage department patted her back and brought her back into her bed. "Your head took quite a hit. You shouldn't make too rapid movements or you'll get nauseous," he told her. Making sure she was safely in bed again, he listened and looked down at her. "Don't worry, they're gone now," he told her with a soft smile. "Take some rest, I can't have you work like this. Alright? Promise me you'll stay in bed, I've got to check the other departments."
He gave her a smile and turned a quick nod towards healer Davis. Then he went off to check if there were any hidden wounded survivors. If he came across any dead bodies, he'd try to get them to the morgue right away so nobody else could spot them. Both to prevent further traumas and to leave the victims in their dignity and privacy. @vanessa

`the aftermath
@alan , @samantha /open Vanessa was pleased to hear that the werewolves were gone, but why had they been there? Why hadn't they informed her that they were going to pull off such a stunt? Vanessa slowly leaned back onto the propped up bed. Her eyes glanced over to Samantha who was still lingering. Had she known? From the way she can barely look at me I'd say she knew, but then again she could be blaming herself because she didn't know it was going to happen, her friend was so complicated... both of them.
"Sam, I'll be fine. You should hurry and help the wounded." she said and watched her friend nod and take off. Vanessa knew that if Sam could she would have stayed, but Alan had said that her department was hit the worst. vanessa wanted to get up and help people herself, but she had been ordered by her boss to take it easy. How was she supposed to do that when she was surrounded by chaos?
