If You Go Into The Woods Today [Open]

Lorna made her way slowly across the grounds hands in her jacket pocket. left on her wand right fidgeting with her pocket knife. Lorna wasn't some paranoid idiot. She was fairly confident that she wasn't actually in danger, or anything like that.  She simply liked to keep herself ready. Hogwarts students weren't kind to the Greyback kids, by and large. Lorna wasn't blind to the fact that was on them. Most of her siblings weren't 'good' people, and Lorna wasn't either. Not that she cared what these sheep thought, just that she wasn't going to ignore their presence when they were so fond of hassling her.  She cast her eyes  around, spotting the whomping willow. Now that its true purpose was known, Lorna was even more interested in checking it out up close one day, maybe stunning it and descending into the passageway.  Today was not that day.

Lorna continued toward the Forbidden Forest, passing the hut that was once occupied by Rubeus Hagrid, she soon disappeared into the treeline. Centaurs, unicorns and giant spiders were all said to reside in this forest, Lorna understood why it was forbidden, but that also made it nice and private. A few trees in, out of sight from the majority of the school the girl sat, back against a tree and decided to light a cigarette.  once her smoke was ignited she produced her pocket knife, twirling it dexterously between her fingers. Lorna liked quiet days  and secluded places sometimes,  She always loved to cause trouble but  every now and then she needed time to herself.

Soon, Lorna heard footsteps approaching, and she gave a quiet sigh , not interested enough to move just yet. whoever this person was,  she was going to finish her smoke.

What would a girl like CJ do in a forest like this? God knows. CJ just needed something for her potions and hoped she could ask a centaur for help. Of course with everything going on centaurs didn't have it nice and easy but CJ really hoped she could convince them to help her find this root she needed.

The blonde loved potions and hoped she could do something good with it one day. Help people with her own made medicine. Maybe even cure werewolves and vampires from their fate if they want her to. All she could think of was trying to help people and almost tripped over a branch interrupting a smoking girl.

"Sorry." she mumbled and dusted herself off, coughing at the smell of the smoke. Gross.

Lorna waited, expecting to be yelled at by some idiot who was convinced their headmistress-given authority would be enough to make her give up on her smoke. Whoever was walking toward her certainly had another thing coming. Lorna wasn't the type to give up easily and she wasn't in the mood now. Though as she sucked down smoke, her eyes widened ever so slightly in surprise as she found herself looking at CJ Jones. What was this nervous little girlie doing out here. This wasn't the safest place in the school and CJ had always seemed like a nervous creature. Lorna was suddenly very, very interested. She scanned her mind for everything she had known about CJ. She'd shared a few classes with her and when Lorna was bored in class, which was often, she would watch other students. She knew two things for sure. First, CJ was anxious, second that despite her hiding it, she was gay. Lorna had shot the same sad, longing looks across rooms that CJ did now when she was thirteen. She knew a closet case when she saw it and that made the girl all the more interesting.

"Jones..." She greeted. Often when people addressed one another by surnames it was meant to be distant, or aggressive. Not so here. That was just the way that the young Ravenclaw werewolf spoke. She watched the younger girl's expression as she coughed. It didn't dissuade Lorna from smoking or motivate her to move, but she was considerate enough to turn her head away from CJ as she blew out a lungful of smoke. "Didn't realise the forest was badger territory?" She asked the other, probing hr for what she might have been doing here. Finally, Lorna finished her cigarette and flicked it onto the ground, to leave it where it lay. Slowly she stood up, leaning against the tree.

"What brings a pretty thing like you out here? Meeting a girl?" She asked, playfully. She was flirting. Whether that meant anything remained to be seen. Lorna flirted with most girls.

CJ was not going to admit here that she wanted to be around Lorna. The girl was dangerous in her own way and flirted with more people than CJ could count but she actually thought Lorna was beautiful and special inside. Though she did try not to show it too much, CJ wasn't out yet.

"Well to be fair unicorns do live here." she said as a slight excuse and just fiddled with her shirt. "What are you doing here?" she eyed the cigarette knowing it was probably to smoke but CJ didn't want to assume things right away.

"A girl? No.. why would I meet a girl?" CJ blushed and looked down.

Lorna had yet to develop particularly deep thoughts about CJ in return, but she had hardly known the girl, and she'd been in all of one real relationship. The rest of her intimacy had been purely casual. Lorna watched CJ's shy movements, her uncertainty bringing a grin to the Ravenclaw's face. her eyes roamed over the other, taking her in. CJ wasn't fooling anyone, and Lorna laughed to hear her excuse Unicorns live here? Really? Lorna pushed off her tree and slowly made her way toward the blonde, still taking in her features.

"Unicorns?" She asked. smirking provocatively as she did. "You know unicorns are a big gay symbol for muggles." Lorna wasn't sure if she was mocking or flirting anymore. she supposed the two weren't mutually exclusive, she could playfully call CJ's weak excuse out and not act like a complete ass about it. She gave a little laugh. "I'm here to get away from that castle. From all the people there who don't get it, and who think they can dictate my life to me." she said bluntly, and then the girl asked a question bought her right back to flirting. "Well. If it were me, I'd meet a girl out here so that I could be alone with her. Just the two of us." She stepped in even closer Hoping CJ would realise quickly that the two of them were alone. Even if it wasn't planned, Lorna wanted to see where this would go.

She didn't expect CJ to make a move, it would have stunned her, but Lorna was fascinated by the pretty little blonde none the less. Had Lorna known how special this girl would one day be to her, she might have spent less time playing with her and more time trying to make the most of who she had found in CJ. But she had no idea what this would be.

CJ usually would tell a rude person to mind their own business but she had been developing feelings for Lorna of all people and she truly just tried not to feel anything. The blonde raised a brow as the other girl came closer with every mocking comment she made.

CJ was trying to become a potions master in her own perfect way and that was no reason to mock her. She eyed the girl coming closer and did not want to step back. She knew Lorna was a werewolf like her family and that some people feared her, CJ did not.

"Are you saying I'm gay?"

Lorna considered the young, blonde woman before her CJ was a bold one not backing down, and Lorna was a little surprised by that.  Jones was a badger, not a lion. Then again the whole house system was pretty arbitrary in Lorna's eyes. A nonsense argument between a bunch of wizards thousands of years ago had caused a ridiculous schism, and now students were divided into all sorts of different silly groups based on what Lorna considered more or less a glorified horoscope. She supposed ,given that thought that she could allow the badger to be brave, and allow herself to be impressed by that courage. She got close enough to kiss CJ, if she had wanted, and what she did instead was sniff. not right up close, not burying her nose against the girl, just a deep breath through her nose to smell her... Then she heard CJ's question. The incredulity of her challenge. Lorna wasn't trying to be rude, she was trying to be playful. Had she caused offence? The thought bothered her. Not because she cared what CJ thought, generally, but because she had actually meant to be nice, if a little intense.

"Aye" The Scottish werewolf confirmed. "Because you are. I pay attention to you in class." She spoke almost gently to CJ. "Believe it or not I'm not gonna make fun of you for it either. I was closeted once too, CJ I thought my mother would have killed me if she had it in her 'ead that I wasn't planning on having kids." She told the other. "I actually sympathise." With that she took a slight step back, not to give the blonde back any ground just to let her relax a little. It was that, or keep going and kiss her. Lorna would probably have done the latter if the girl wasn't closeted. But she knew that back before she herself came out, that would have made her run, and she wanted CJ to stay.

"Good news is though. Right now, it's just you and me. So tell me, one gay lass to another, what's your type? Get it off your chest." Lorna also knew she needed to be firm to keep the conversation on track, and she actually admired CJ's heart staying here this long. "Why are you hiding it anyway? Your brother's fucking my dad's second in command. They're both gay, right?" She wasn't dropping the point.

"Maybe if you're not meeting someone already, you might be interested in a little date with me, huh blondie? What were you looking for in here? I'll help."

CJ was not scared of Lorna even though people around her seemed to be. She wasn't even close to being scared of her though the brunette made a huge mistake to drag her brother into this. She could call CJ gay all she wants, when CJ was ready to tell people she would but she just wasn't. Instead she just gave Lorna a glare, this went from friendly to offensive in CJ's eyes. 

"Don't talk mean about my brother.." she warned her. CJ finally had it under control, she could shift in a wolf right now and feel stronger than she did as a human. She just didn't want it to come out like this, she wanted Lorna to know that during the full moons, the wolf she saw in the shadows trying to comfort her, that its CJ and not some random vision. 

"I did not come here to meet anyone. And your father is a cruel person.. Ty is not!" she felt angry now. CJ was protective over her big brother, he saved her more than she could express and he was there for her when their dead was being cruel. "A date with you? why? So you can insult my family?" she stepped back.

Lorna knew instantly she had crossed a line. She wasn't the type to back down but she did nod. She would give the girl this. "Look. If my mum lied to me, okay. But check with your brother. As far as I know, I'm telling the truth, blondie." She said surprisingly gently, stepping forward again as the CJ backed off. She shook her head slowly. CJ had obviously gotten it all wrong if she thought Lorna meant to insult her, or her family. A sigh came from her lips. Fuck, she needed another cigarette just now. She reached for her pack and put the cigarette into her mouth but didn't light it yet. she wanted to hash this out before she got too much further.

"Look, I get how important family is." she said gently "And if I had any idea I wasn't just speaking facts about Ty, I'd never have talked shit about him to his own sister. I'm a werewolf, pack is important to me." She explained gently to the blonde girl. almost face to face with her, now. She considered the girl. What did she know? Whay was she squaring up? Did she actually not know about Ty and Barrows, or had her father lied to her mother? It wasn't that unlikely that Fenrir would do that if he felt he couldn't trust the people he was talking to - of course if he couldn't trust them, Lorna couldn't see him revealing himself to start with.

"No. Not so I can insult anyone. Because I actually think you're pretty cool, Jones." She said directly now, wondering how the girl would handle it. She took a step back, lighting her cigarette, and backing away a little more so that she wouldn't be blowing smoke on CJ. She wasn't shy though. She knew that she wanted CJ. She had no notion that someone else had been comforting her while she was in wolf form. She had no idea that she and this girl were more connected than she was with anyone else in the school. She just thought that she was getting closer to a pretty blonde, and that was more than enough motivation for her.  Lorna blew a small stream of smoke away from CJ down into the forest.  "What's it gonna be, babe?" She said, shamelessly.
