Muggle studies had become both his favorite and least favorite class at Hogwarts. On one hand the professor was really hot and knew how to get them to tune in. But on the other hand.... the professor was really hot. Jack often found himself day dreaming about the man... only to end up cursing and swearing at himself for having those very thoughts. He wasn't... he couldn't afford to be the way that his mind was trying to tell him that he was. He looked up confused as Professor Harper asked for him to stay back prior to dismissing the class. His heart raced whilst he waited for the room to clear, two Gryffindors taking a moment to chirp him for being the teacher's pet before they too departed the classroom. And before he knew it it was just him and Professor Harper. Alone within the classroom. His palms were sweating and he rubbed them hastily against the black and blue robes that not only announced himself as a student, but a Ravenclaw. The blue making his eyes even more illustrious than usual. "You wanted to see me professor?"Oh how he longed to refer to the professor by his first name rather than his last...

Brandon smiled politely to the other as he stayed behind. He got up, and moved to sit on the desk beside the student's seat. He had seen everything that had happened today, and he had been nice enough not to step in, knowing that his intervention would only have lead to everything getting worse for Jack when Brandon couldn't be there to help the young man. Instead he had watched and observed, seeing the other's reactions. He was fairly convinced that the taunters were right about the poor boy. He'd had that treatment too. Brandon knew all about being queer, and being a teenager. He knew teasing and taunting. He'd been there, and he'd seen the best and worst of responses to it. The difference, he supposed was that he never denied who he was or what he wanted.
"Mister Hogan." He said welcomingly. "Jack." He corrected, deciding that this probably wasn't the time for rigid formality. He was only a few years older than the other, he supposed. He could be a friend in this situation... Though as he looked at the other, tall and well-built as he was, he didn't see a boy. Wizarding law said he was still a minor but Jack was decidedly a man. He sighed as he looked the other over. "I saw the way you were being treated in class and I wanted you to know why I didn't stop it." he did his best to sound bracing to the other. "If I'd said something, they'd only treat you worse when they could get awway with it... I know what they're doing to you is awful. But even if they're right. If you are gay, there's nothing to be ashamed of."
"Trust me." He said earnestly. "I'm gay, myself. I went to a muggle school when it was obvious I would never have much in the way of magic. That sort of thing matters a lot more to muggles, there's no blood status there's no house division in a lot of muggle schools, so this is the sort of thing muggles fight over... What I'm trying to say is, if you need someone to talk to about it, I'm here for you." Without really thinking he put a hand bracingly on the young man's shoulder.

He didn't know how to feel. Ecstatic that the professor he thought he may have developed a crush upon was gay? Angry that the man was siding with the other kids? Hurt from what the other boys had been teasing him about? All of the above? His head was spinning, and as it did so the boy sat there in an emotionally stunned silence. It was the hand upon his shoulder however that tipped the scales. His mind started freaking out for a brief moment before the part of him that was in denial about his sexuality shut him down. So the boy just sat there silently as the war was fought within his head.

Brandon sighed in frustration at himself. "I'm sorry. I probably shouldn't have just shot my mouth off like that." He said not unkindly. Unlike a lot of teachers that Brandon had encountered he was more than happy to admit when he made a mistake. "You know, I'm not taking their side." He ventured, pushing on. "If you want me to say something I will, but I'm worried that if I do, they'll cause trouble for you when I can't be around." He was clear on that. now. If the other wanted his help he would have it.
Brandon sat quietly next to the student and looked the handsome young man over. He felt a wave of anger wash over him. Here was a boy that was going through something very difficult, and there were students, in his own class victimising him for it... Brandon wanted to protect this young man. His eyes met Jack's for a long, slightly tense stare, he could see the conflict and emotion in the young wizard.
"I'm sorry." He repeated not sure what else to say, his eyes drifted from the young man's over his muscular handsome body - why was that such a sticking point, why was his mind so latched on to the idea of a boy he was teaching being so attractive? A part of Brandon resented that thought but another hoped that the boy was gay - hoped that there was something Brandon could do to help him. Maybe even that something would come of that. But Brandon was a teacher and such a thought was dangerous. He shook his head, trying to banish it.

As Professor Harper and Jack stared into each other's eyes, the younger boy was painfully aware of all the thoughts that ran into his head. I could stare into those chestnut eyes forever. His thoughts became less about school and the bullies and focused more upon the war that was being fought within his own mind. It was almost as if staring into the eyes of the professor was doing nothing more than add fuel to the fire. Once the gaze broke however the boy instantly snatched his bag with shaking hands and stood up from the desk. What was going on with him? What was wrong with him? Why was a professor causing all of these emotions to bubble to the surface? "Thanks professor but I uhh... I need to go study for my History of Magic quiz tomorrow..."He had to get out of here before things got any worse. He had to get out of here before the war grew even worse. He had to get out of here before one side won over the other...

"Professor Weasley will be understanding. Let me talk to her." He said, Suspecting there probably wasn't a quiz to take. Professor Harper wanted to help his student if he could. He could see the conflict etched on the young man's face, and he remembered feeling that pain for himself. He was staring to grow desperate to keep Jack here, and he wasn't sure why. He just felt a pull to the other. A need to help him, and make sure he was going to be okay, to comfort him if he could... Did he have feelings for his student? Professor Harper didn't want to have those feelings, at all. He didn't want to break laws, or ruin his professional reputation, but he found himself thinking so fondly of the things that would lead to those consequences.
They had made eye contact not long ago, and it had been electric. Now the boy was grabbing his bag, and leaving, Professor Harper didn't know what to say. He hated all the conflict and emotional turmoil. In the heat of the moment, he made a decision. He reached out and took Jack's hand. He knew this gesture was less likely to be taken as a simple gesture of support than any other he had made, but there it was. He wasn't going to let this boy leave in suffering, and nor was he going to let something that felt beautiful pass him by. Brandon was starting to realise he had nothing to lose. The worst that would happen between them was that Jack would freak out, inform the headmistress and Brandon would be fired. Finding work in the magical world would be hard, but the Squib was used to living as a muggle. He would be fine. He didn't want to throw his job away, but he wasn't going to let the fear of risking it keep him from doing what felt right.
He simply looked up at the young man, with desire in his eyes. He had hated how stupidly he'd started this conversation. Now here he was with every part of his mind screaming "kiss him" but some tiny scrap of caution gave him pause.

Electricity jumped through his body as the other man touched him. There was no way to describe the added conflict that the boy now faced at the instance of flesh upon flesh. He didn't look the man in his mind whilst his mind ran a mile a minute, and therefore didn't see the intent within the man's eyes. He had bigger fish to fry. Part of him wanted more whilst the other part continued to feed the fight or flight human instinct. In the end he chose to flee. He attempted to tug his arm out of the other man's grip. Fear reigning over the Ravenclaw. He had to get out of here before he got involved in something that he wouldn't be able to ignore any longer. "No one can understand a failed test sir. I really must go..."

Brandon looked, longingly at the other he could see the conflict on the boy's face and he decided in this moment that the other did want this. That he needed it, in fact. The poor repressed boy was interested, that much was obvious. He needed Brandon to make the first move though - Was Brandon okay with that? He wasn't sure. He didn't know how to feel about it at all, because he'd never done anything like this. He had already told himself it was worth the risk, but what if he was wrong? Or if he needed the other to make the first move, as though that would make his behaviour more acceptable in the eyes of those in authority.
Brandon didn't really know what to say to the other. At least not yet. He didn't know how to ask permission for what he was about to do, from someone who needed him to make a move, and not to ask. The man, nervously, pulled his student in a little closer and on an impulse, kissed him, fiercely, his tongue slithering to caress the boy's lip after a moment, asking permission to enter.
Aside from the kiss, Brandon couldn't think. His thoughts were gone. He didn't consider the possibility of the test that Professor Weasley had supposedly set her student. He didn't even think about the fact the classroom door had been unlocked when he made his move. The world was just his lips, and Jack's.

Their eyes locked as they kissed, shock initially upon his face before settling into that of bliss. His heart racing as he engaged in his first kiss. In the bliss his mouth opened, allowing Brandon's tongue to enter his mouth. He didn't want this to stop. He knew it was wrong. That the man that was kissing him was his professor. That he was another male. Everything about this kiss was so wrong... yet so right... he moved closer to the man that he was locking lips with. Their bodies were touching now as the kiss got deeper. He couldn't stop. It was like the man had unlocked something within him and he was scared that if they stopped it would lock up again. Send him plunging even deeper into the world of denial and regret.

Contrary to Jack's complicated thoughts, Brandon's had shrunk down. The morality of it all didn't matter. This wasn't a professor kissing a student, it wasn't a gay kiss. It wasn't even a squib kissing a wizard. It was literally a man making the first bold move into uncharted water. not that he commended his own bravery for doing it - He just simply took a chance. At first he had been panicked when the boy had seemed shocked, but he seemed to warm up to it, and that kept Brandon feeling good about it too. The apprehension he felt when he initiated the contact had melted away by now. His tongue was dancing with Jack's. it wasn't rough, it wasn't wrestling. it was needy, he wanted every part of him from his tongue to his toes to be close to this young man now.
It was almost a shame when breathing became a challenge. Brandon didn't want it to end, but it had to. His lips came apart from Jack's as his tongue retreated. He simply looked at the other for a moment as his head spun and he found himself coming back to reality slowly. What he was feeling wasn't exactly regret... Nervousness might have been more like it. If they were seen doing something like this... that could be trouble. Meanwhile another part of his mind still didn't care and probably never would. It felt right. It felt natural.
Brandon didn't say a word. What was there to say at a moment like this?
