Frank was never one for breaking curfew. He wasn’t really one for breaking rules at all. He wasn’t completely against it if there was a reason for it, but he couldn’t condone doing it just to do it. He had no reasons to be out of bed or the common room at this hour. He just couldn’t sleep and wanted a change of scenery while he read in an attempt to tire himself out. So Frank was sitting up in the clock tower, reading his History of Magic textbook by the light of his wand. He’d finished all of his homework in the class and was now reading ahead. He couldn’t help it; he loved history.

He wasn’t going to stay up there much longer. It was already past one and he needed to get some sleep. He hoped he got tired soon. He wasn’t really sure what it was that was preventing him from sleeping when usually, he was really tired by eleven. Frank turned the page, starting to read again. This was interesting. He couldn’t wait until they covered this in class. He sighed as he glanced up. This wasn’t working, but he decided to give it a while longer. Eventually he’ll be ready for bed. He was sure of that.

Dessa had been sitting in the dark common room when she saw the second year boy leave. It had been Jojo that had alerted her to the fact that she was not alone nor the only one out of bed at this late hour. She had been up late doing her homework and hadn’t wanted to go directly to bed straight after. She didn’t like to leave things hanging, if she got her homework early and correctly then she won’t have to rush and then make mistakes.
The boy had not returned after a half an hour and that worried Dessa. What if he got caught and Ravenclaw lost points? Weighing up her options she decided to go find him and bring him back. Getting up off the chair that she sitting in she headed for the door and out into the Hogwarts after curfew.
The question was where could he be? If he had just gone to the bathroom he wouldn’t have been that long. Maybe he got lost? No, he wasn’t a first year she was sure that she had seen him last year. She wandered the halls for a little while and ended up near the clock tower and saw a little light. Was he there? Heading up she looked in and saw the boy reading by the light of his wand.
“What are you doing here. You are going to get into trouble and loose points for Ravenclaw?” she whispered in a hiss. .

Usually when he read a book, Frank could get lost in it, becoming completely oblivious to his surroundings, but that didn’t happen this time. Maybe because he knew he was breaking rules being up here. He remained on the watch for footsteps or any noises indicating that someone was approaching this tower. He’d have to come up with a reason for being up here, too, if he did get caught. Not being able to sleep and wanting a change of scenery wouldn’t work with a professor, so he’d have to come up with something really quickly if one came up here on one of their rounds. He was kind of hoping that first time rule breaker wasn’t that big of a punishment. Frank really didn’t want to know what it felt like to be in detention.

It wasn’t long before he could hear someone approach the clock tower and tensed a little, wondering what he was going to do. He relaxed some when he saw that it was a girl around his own age, so not old enough to get him into any real trouble without getting herself into trouble first. “I couldn’t sleep, so I decided to read some. Nothing wrong with a little change of scenery sometimes. I’m going back.” Frank closed his book and stood up, keeping his wand lit, so he could see the girl. “What about you? You could get caught, too. That would lose us even more points.”

Dessa face brightened slightly as the boy called her out on being out of bed and the possibility that they both might lose points if caught. She looked down at her feet and shuffled them a bit a little nervous. Apart from her brother, and he didn't count, she hadn't really been alone with a boy. Especially not late at night.

"Dessa was worried," she mumbled her face brightening again. "Was up finishing up some homework and Jojo saw you leave. Dessa didn't think much of it but then you didn't return and got worried and that is why Dessa came to find you."

She smiled shyly at the boy and then yawned making sure that she covered her mouth.

"Dessa thinks that we should go back to tower now. She is tired and will need to sleep soon."
