OPEN THREADS
In the past few months we have noticed that there are more open threads being made than there are being replied to. Don’t forget that replying to an open thread (and posting stating that you have done so in the open thread list). For other ways to earn house points (and to see what has already been earned and how as well as for prefects and professors to award and deduct points) make sure to check out this thread.
Open threads will only be removed from the list when a member posts that they have replied to it, or at the start of each new school year.
CHARACTER DELETIONS
Since the end of the activity check has ended we have noticed that a number of characters have been deleted. We simply request that you tell staff members about the characters you are deleting characters and any special abilities or positions that they have so we could accurately update the lists they were on as opposed to checking each and every list and claim that we have.
ACTIVITY CHECK SUMMARY
It’s great to see that so many characters remained upon the site. The majority of the characters that we lost in the activity check however were female characters. Despite that it is great to see the site growing in numbers and activity as we reach 100 characters!
OF THE MONTHS
During the last two months we have come to realize that we need to revamp the way we do OTMs as we end up with to many ties and very few members actually voting in the polls. From now on staff will decide upon the OTM winners however our characters will be exempt from winning to prevent biases and will start from in January due to how busy it has been across December for staff..
RULES UPDATED
The site rules have been recently updated to clarify a few things to new/prospective members. The following rules have been added to the rules thread:
NO CHARACTERS FROM OTHER SERIES/UNIVERSES
We are a Harry Potter roleplay site, as such we will not allow any Percy Jacksons, Simbas, or other such characters from different series (whether they be books, movies, or tv shows). If we find that your character is too similar to a character that is not in the HP verse then we will ask you to change them.
PROFESSOR ACTIVITY
As professors are limited in number and are often in high demand we require each professor to post at least 1 lesson each school year in order to retain their position for the next school year. This lesson could be for any years however they should be of a relevant skill level for the year that you are teaching (eg. a charms professor shouldn't be teaching how to use wingardium leviosa through a verbal spell to seventh years)
NO BEINGS EMPLOYED BY THE MINISTRY
The final law that was passed by Umbridge's ministry that sent the world into war was a law banning the employment of beings within the ministry of magic, as such no characters will be allowed to be working in secret as a being (werewolf, vampire, giant, or veela) as hiding such information from the ministry would be nigh on impossible.
NEW FEATURE
Prior to my mental health notice going up I installed a feature which allows for a sub-title to be entered on IC thread areas. These titles are mandatory and should be the setting of the thread. This allows two things; firstly it allows the members of open threads to get a better idea of when the thread takes place prior to joining. Secondly when the thread is archived it allows people to establish a clear timeline of events.
