PROMOTION
I’m sure it has come to your attention (well especially for those who have been around prior to Tay stepping down) that for a little bit now that Red Flag has been understaffed. This is in no way a reflection upon Kimmie who did an excellent job at holding the fort whilst I was out with a mental and physical health issue. To help us cope with the growing site, and the demands of staff we have promoted Camilla to join the staff team. This is a member I have known personally for many years and am positive that she won’t let any of us down!
ADDITION TO THE RULES
Following recent events, we have once again had to edit our site rules to better clarify student and staff rights in certain situations.
ACTIVITY
Red Flag currently does not have any character limits in place, however staff do hold the right to deny any further characters should we feel that you are unable to cope with the amount that you currently hold. The deletion of characters is strongly discouraged and will not do anything to change the verdict upon any characters pended due to your activity. We understand that RPing is a past time and not as important as real life, and this is why we are holding the right to pend characters if we feel you are unable to cope.
CANON CHARACTERS
Out of fairness to other members and future members who may be wishing to take on canon characters you will not be allowed to apply to re-gain possession of a canon character if you have lost possession of them twice before whether it be due to your own choice to delete them or through a missed activity check. This provides new members opportunities to play a canon character and encourages you to think twice before deleting a canon character.
FINAL WARNING TO PROFESSORS
The Hogwarts term ends in two weeks’ time, if you have not posted at least 1 lesson thread your character will be removed as a professor and will not be eligible to be a professor for at least 1 term. There have been numerous reminders of this, and hence there will be no more following this announcement & mass PM.
ACTIVITY CHECK
Following this announcement an activity check will be posted. Under new specifications, members who have joined within the past week will be exempt from having to take part in the activity check. Of course, any characters approved following the posting of the check will also be exempt from the check. The activity check will run for 3 weeks and will require at least one post from each character.
PREFECT POSITIONS NEXT TERM
Now that Red Flag has students, we are changing the way prefects are selected. Instead of signing up for a prefect, the staff will select prefects from the characters that are present. This has always been intended, but for obvious reasons were unable to do so during our first ever term. In order to select the prefects we will be looking at the following criteria.
- Which character best represents their house?
- Does said character show strong leadership qualities?
- Is the character a good role model to younger students? (or in the case of a rebellious year group, are they good role models in comparison to other eligible characters in their house)
- Is the role player active?
- Does the role player already play a prefect for another house in the same year/ have a stronger candidate in another house?
