Camilla had been given a letter when she received her grandfather's will. It had taken her a while to open it and with the help of her girlfriend she finally managed to do so and found out her father had an affair. That she wasn't her mother's daughter.

With all the courage she did not have and some pressure from Harriet she knocked on Devon's door. Devon was her friend, like a big sister to her for so long. How did she not know this? Did Devon know?

Harriet stood beside Cam, she took her partner's hand and squeezed it. Her 'pressure' had been there, sure, but it had been loving. She knew that Camilla needed closure and that sorting this out would be good for her. She also knew that most of the things that were good for someone were also very hard. She wouldn't force Cam to go through this alone. Nor would she hover. If Camilla needed alone time, she'd have it. The quidditch star wasn't going to push the issue and muscle her way into the affairs of a dead man. Just as she hadn't interfered with his funeral. "You're gonna be okay." She told the other quietly as they waited at the door.

Harriet had been surprised and a little upset on Cam's behalf when she found out her girlfriend was the child of an affair. she hoped for Camilla's sake that her new siblings would be good to her, kind and understanding as she was. She deserved that. Perhaps this would be Cam's chance to hang on to some of what her grandfather was to her. Harriet wanted that for her girlfriend, but even if they were horrid, Harriet would be there for her. Silently now she waited her fingers tensing as she squeezed Camilla's hand.

At least Camilla had already been friends with this girl. That was a good start. Harriet had known well over a dozen of her own half siblings and she hadn't been thrilled by many of them. A lot of them were like their father and that certainly wasn't a flattering comparison to be victim to.  Things were already looking good for Cam though, to be close to one of her half-siblings already. It made Harriet happy. Hence even as she was here to support the girl she saw this as a good thing. A chance to get closer to a friend. She had said as much, gently reminding Camilla that they had already had a good relationship and aside from sorting out their grandfather's affairs nothing specifically needed to change between C amilla and this sister that Harriet had yet to meet. "Love you." She said  just to show Cam that she was there.

Devon had been sitting on the couch, watching the muggle television and a beer in hand. The female had long terrible week, something she had been repeating to those around her and only Taylor had managed to keep her from breaking someone’s neck - and by someone, she means Harry. Okay, so she wasn’t against having her brother’s boyfriend staying with them, but he needed to learn to keep his hands off the food that had her name on it. The female had worked hard to earn the money and the moron just helps himself.

Perhaps it was her own fault, she told him to make himself at home and he did just that. His guitar was in the corner in her living room, music sheets were piled on top of the fireplace to keep the place somewhat tidy. Even if she didn’t want to admit it, she liked having a clean space because she was a tattoo artist and hated clutter. Having siblings was a nightmare. Term was almost over and the kids will be home for a few weeks before she can send them back to Hogwarts.

”Oi, you piece of…” she started to bitch at the television before she heard the door, her eyebrow raising. ”Harry, did you forget something else?” she called and climbed off the couch, heading toward the door. At first she had peeked out of the curtain, her eyebrows raising before she opened it. ”Cam. Fellow human.” she greeted, stepping aside. ”At first I thought you were my brother’s idiot boyfriend.”

"What if she doesn't like me anymore?" she asked Harriet while waiting for Devon to open the door. She knew this family had a hard time just like Harriet's, maybe in a way they could relate to one another. With a sigh she fiddled with her shirt, she always did that when she was nervous. 

"Love you too." she said softly before the door opened and Cam's bright blue eyes looked right into Devon's. "Hey Dev." she said and headed into the house, taking Harriet with her. She just didn't want to let go of her hand now. 

"Harriet this is Devon, Devon this is my girlfriend Harriet." she said quickly and bit her lip. How was she even going to start about this.. should she get straight to the point? Camilla just looked around hoping it would get any easier but it just didn't feel like that would be the case. 

"C-Can we talk?"

"Pleasure." Harriet said with a grin to her girlfriend's long-time friend and brand-new sister. It was weird knowing that when Devon didn't, she reflected, usually it was her extended family making contact with her, and they never had a happy time of it, finding out that James had drunk away the family fortune, that he was an abusive monster. Either way though it was almost always Harriet learning of another family member. It was a slightly strange feeling to her to see someone else going through the other side of it... And to know, in thee presence of the other person without it being her place to say. Harriet smiled to Devon.

She was sure that Camilla would be able to handle it. Her girlfriend's confidence was wavering but she'd given information to families before, she'd broken tragic news... Of course it was probably a lot harder when you were a part of the story yourself, she thought. She moved very slightly closer, squeezing Cam's hand once again. Almost literally telling her 'I'm here.' She didn't speak aloud but she could have.

Harriet's job right now was just to stand by Cam's side and encourage her through the hard times she was dealing with. It wasn't going to be a comfortable thing, she realised now, but her immediate impression of Devon was that she was a good sort. Camilla wouldn't have had an existing friendship with someone awful, after all. IT was just a matter now of breaking the news and hoping it was taken well. Harriet's eyes lingered on Devon as she considered the other. It was hard to know what would happen but they were here now.

Devon had closed the door behind both of them, giving Harriet a polite smile and nod as Cam introduced them. Of course she looked familiar to her, but she wasn't going to try to pin point from where. The woman was stressed from her work, and wanted to have some peace and quiet. But she could see that something was off with her friend, and raised an eyebrow at her as she nodded, gesturing the two to take a seat somewhere. Perhaps she could use some company instead of suffering with her brain going into overdrive. "Take a seat please." she said, giving them a smile.

"What's going on? You look like you're both on a mission." she said and took a seat herself, resting her elbows on her knees while she held the bottle of beer in her hand. Devon wasn't a blind idiot, something was up and she wanted to know. "Do I have to hurt someone?"

Because she would if someone messed with Cam.

Camilla took a seat and just nervously bit her lip as she looked at Devon and her girlfriend. She knew that maybe bringing Harriet wasn't the best idea because the poor girl was in a strange home with a strange woman but Camilla needed the support more than anything. 

"Here.." she held the letter out and bit her lip. It was hard and she wanted to be honest with her friend. "H-have you ever heard the name Amelia Evans?" she asked and frowned a bit. "She was my mother but... Christopher Evans was not my biological father." Camilla eyed Harriet. 

"Desmond Callaghan is."
