The night was cold, blurry and the feeling of water touching her skin. Usually around this time of the year Camilla did not like going outside. It was the time where drunk people would approach young women wanting to get into their homes, into their beds. Camilla liked living alone by herself. Her father had passed away and her mother disappeared when she was only ten years old. Her pale finger slowly stroked her cheek where the raindrop rolled down and wiped it away. The cold make the drops feel like a sting on her red face and with a silent sigh her feet hopped onto the cobblestone street.

Camilla hid herself away from the rain in an alley where the only light was a small lantern attached to a closed down shop. Her back leaned against the brick wall as her light eyes tried to focus. She had nowhere to go tonight not wanting to get home soaking wet either. Work had been crazy and her life was being turned upside down. Camilla had to start thinking about funeral arrangements for her grandfather who until yesterday was her only living relative. The feeling of being alone was never so strong as it is today.

The water on Camilla’s cheeks now was not from the cold sticky rain. The water was warm and tasted a bit salty as it rolled down from her eyes to her lips. Camilla Evans sank down, curling up against the wall in the bad lit alleyway, crying her eyes out as the feeling of being alone overwhelmed her.
