Strange.
Things always seemed to grow so quiet whenever the seventh year students graduated. There was a sense of peace and... a sense of mourning in the air. The younger students were preparing to leave for the summer. Some of the teachers were getting ready to travel for few months - or so he's been told. Then... there were teachers like himself who kept to the grounds. He had a home outside the castle walls and a family. Yet... Victor liked to stay at least a few extra weeks to research and plan for the next year. Always one step ahead... Never looking back.
Pausing at the thought, Victor looked out the small window to his office. He could already see the smoke from the Hogwarts Express filling the air in the distance. It was not a bad thing to look back at the past. People are often made based on their failures and/or excellences made. Then again, the past could also be something rather damaging if not handled in the correct way.
This was much like the runes he had the students practice every year. Even the smallest mistake could have the biggest of consequences. One small line and the word changes completely.
Victor smirked at the memory of one student complaining about his O.W.L. examination. He had warned him to be careful of a phrase that was a constant reminder throughout the year. He hoped that now the student had learned a valuable lesson in paying closer attention to the words of old. Even for something from the past, they were something to be treasured and taken very seriously.
Turning his head from the window, Victor made his way over to the small bookshelf towards the back of the classroom. He picked up several books, intent on reorganizing the mess that had been made at the last minute.
