The magical world was nothing like the world he had been born into. The muggle world was a dog eat dog world and in this world everyone had a chance. In this world the only things that held you back were your own mistakes. Aaron sat beneath a tree near the lake as it slowly shed its leaves, his copy of The mOnster Book of Monsters open within his lap. There were no regrets as far as the subjects he had chosen to pursue at the end of last year. Well maybe only one... he should have taken Basic Healing alongside the Dark Arts and Care of Magical Creatures. With a test coming up, he had chosen to study whilst making the most of the semi-nice weather while it lasted. It wouldn't be long before winter arrived, after all, and with winter came frigid winds and snow flurries. His studies however was disrupted by some form of commotion not too far away. Just what was going on over there?!

Frank was really happy with his choice to take Arithmancy and Ancient Runes. They were interesting classes, particularly Runes, though it was rather challenging. It was so easy to mix runes up and he had a habit of doing that. Frank had just finished his homework in both Arithmancy and Ancient Runes, but he still had the latter’s textbook open in front of him, going over everything again to make sure he'd gotten them all right. After a few minutes, he packed up his homework and books and decided to head outside. The weather was still pretty nice and it was good to get out while he still could. November was ending quickly, soon it would be December, snowing and he wouldn’t be going out in that unless if he needed to. As Frank left the castle, he heard the commotion and as he drew closer, he saw a group of people together, wands drawn and pointing at each other. From what he could tell, a spell had hit the castle. The third year quickly averted his gaze and walked on, not coming to a stop until he saw Aaron. “Hey,” he greeted, sitting down with him. “A couple of people got into a duel, apparently.” He took out his copy of Spellman’s Syllabary. “I think a spell hit the castle.” aaron hall

Before he could move to see what was going on, he was joined by his friend Frank. It was Frank who filled him in on what was going on over there, and ultimately it was Frank who saved him from a trip that probably would have turned out to be nothing nut a waste of time. If a professor had made it there by now then there would be nothing to see other than a fellow student getting points deducted from their house and sent to detention for a week... or even a month. "Oh, so I didn't really miss much then, huh?"He looked at Frank with a smile. There really was no words to perfectly describe their relationship, but at least it was a positive one.

That might’ve been quite the scene to see when the duel first started, but he was sure by now would just be the aftermath, the consequences for dueling, as well as doing damage to the castle. That would be fixed in no time, Frank was sure of that. He wasn’t sure what spell had been used, but it wasn’t likely to cause too much damage. Certainly not enough to warrant it being damaged for long. “Yeah, I think all you’d see is the aftermath. It’s not likely to be too exciting.” He’d known Aaron for some time now and he’s someone that he’d count as a close friend. He liked hanging around him, even when they weren’t really doing too much, like at the moment. Before opening his book, Frank looked at Aaron and saw that he had a book open, as well. “So what are you working on?” he asked, curiously. aaron hall
