History of Magic- Years 6 and 7- Giant Wars

On to her last class of the day, and Ginny had to suppress a sigh of relief as she held the door open for the final time whilst her students filed into the classroom. She loved her job, she really did, but it had been a long day, a long week and a long year, and considering that they were only a third of the way through, that was not boding well. Still, she knew very well that this was always the worst point of the year- the autumn term was too long and the Christmas holidays not nearly long enough, and no one really wanted to come back afterwards. But that was life; sometimes, you had to do things that you didn't feel like doing and that was that. She hadn't particularly felt like fighting a war in her sixth year but she had done it all the same.

"Good afternoon." she began briskly, getting straight down to business. She was tired and so were they but they had to be here so they might as well get on with it. "Our topic for this term will be the giant wars-" she held up a hand to quell the inevitable groans. "Yes, I know we covered the giant wars in fifth year, but these are different giant wars, and if you think the last lot were complicated... they've got nothing on these. NEWTs are coming up, people. Get used to it. OK, anyone feel like suggesting a possible cause of the giant wars? Don't care if it's wrong."
