 Summer had arrived and so too did the uncertainties that the Evans brothers faced. They had no roof over their heads. No job to put food on the table. No family that they could safely stay with. Luckily however they had friends. In fact Timmy’s best friend’s family was willing to let him stay with them. Even though it would be tough for the brothers, they both knew that it was for the best.
Today however was going to be the toughest for the younger brother for it was his twelfth birthday. The second birthday he would have since he had accidentally killed his mother and since his brother and idol had become a constant within his life. As both happy and guilty memories of the year just passed barraged him he stared at the ceiling above him from the safety of his bed.
How was he able to have such a good life as a murderer?
His stare was broken however by the sound of the door opening, a weak smile coming to his face as he tried to hide his troubled past from his best friend. After all, would Kane still want to spend time with him if he found out that he was a second-degree murderer?
“About time you woke up, sleepy head!”

Kane knew his father would be displeased if he found out Timmy was a muggleborn. He didn't care. He had still invited Timmy to come stay and not knowing the blood status of his sons friend, the older man had allowed it.
Today was his best friends birthday and Kane had plans. Plenty of plans. They were going to get into some mischief and then they were going to do something to commemorate his friends birthday. Once he had woken up, he went to the guest room to see if Timmy was awake.
"It's summer. Summers are for sleeping in," Kane said with a chuckle. "Come on, I got plans for us."

Timmy knew nothing of the plans that Kane had... but a sigh left him as Kane motioned that they should get the day started with. Slowly he pulled himself out of the chair he was sitting in as he wore nothing but boxers.
"Give me a moment then, let me just put on some clothes."
On went the hoodie that he had worn the day before, black with a white zipper and white drawstrings as well as the pair of blue jeans that he worn the day before. To finish off the look he put on a worn pair of Adidas shoes. They were the old fashioned black kicks with three diagonal white stripes but it was clear from a quick glance at them that they had been around the block a few hundred times.
"So what do you have planned for today?"

" Yeah, sure but hurry up," Kane said teasingly when Timmy asked for him to give him a moment to get dressed. He chuckled when Timmy asked what he had planned. " You'll see!
