Devon had never thought she'd be lucky to have Taylor in her life - and here they were. In a relationship with her best friend. Sure, she couldn't live up to Sapphire and knew that one girl couldn't be replaced easily. Devon knew Sapphire will always be Taylor's first love, and she respected it. A part of her wondered if she was doing the right thing of being with Taylor, but she was also following her heart. One thing she claimed she didn't have after all these years. The was scared she can lose her to something stupid, something that weighed heavily on Devon's mind that morning. Several months ago she had bought a ring but decided against it. Decided against it because she didn't want to overshadow her half-sister's marriage.
Devon had found herself cooking breakfast for the both of them, listening out for any footsteps and knew Declan was out with Harry doing something of their own. Bree had Hogwarts, so she wouldn't be seeing her kid sister anytime soon. She wanted the summer holidays to come so she can have Bree under her roof.
A sigh had escaped Devon as she put the cooked eggs and bacon onto a plate before turning back to get her own plate. Her girlfriend should be up any minute now.

It had been such a nice time within the family and Taylor had been doing great with her job. Sure maybe working for Sean Young was still a way to hold onto the past but if it wasn't for Devon Taylor would have been dead after Sapphire's accident. Sapphire was the world to Taylor and they promised they'd be together forever and then both the twins died and Taylor lost her forever.
