Hogsmeade. . . .it had been about a month since his last visit here as he tried not to make the time between visits too long. Draco had a target he was keeping his eyes on, and to lose track of him would feel like failure to the still prideful Malfoy. Theodore Lupin - Teddy to most - had been the subject of Draco's obsession for almost a year now; he'd never really made full on contact with him though, simply lingered in the shadows, letting the young male catch glimpses of him here and there.
Tonight though, Draco figured that it was high time that he let Teddy know that he was definitely around and not just a figment of his imagination. Plus, there was a little something that he knew that the Lupin offspring needed to know. . . .something about someone the younger had become close to in his line of work. So, dressed in black slacks, a charcoal grey turtleneck sweater, and black boots, the vampire made his way into The Three Broomsticks, actually welcoming the warmth as it suddenly engulfed him and warmed his normally cold skin.
Scanning the place, silvery blue eyes looked for their target, knowing he'd be here. He made eye contact with a few patrons, making them look away quickly at which point, his intense gaze moved on until they finally landed on that oh-so-familiar figure sitting at the bar. With purposeful steps, Draco walked over to the bar and boldly took a seat next to the Auror in training. "Good evening, Theodore," he greeted the other without looking at him, the other's name sliding off his tongue with ease. . . .a lot more ease than he'd ever expected. At that point, he turned his head, letting those intense eyes of his fall on the young Lupin as he awaited his response.

Work had come to an end for the young Lupin and given the fact that glorious Friday had come he decided that it was best celebrated with a drink. Unlike most of his fellow aurors however he didn't choose to retire to London's Diagon Alley for a drink, instead he retired somewhere that closer to home for him. A village that his parents had chosen to protect and risk him growing up as an orphan.
He had been at the Three Broomsticks for maybe a total of ten minutes when he was joined by a man he had yet to meet... and yet here the guy was acting as if he knew him. He took a sip of the beer before him before looking at the man. The confusion he felt clear on his face.
"Sorry... and you are?"

. . .and you are?
Draco had figured that's the response he'd get seeing as Teddy had never officially been introduced to him. 'Figures that saint Potter would never think to introduce us. Guess he was keeping him from the bad guys,' Draco thought to himself as he waved off the bartender when he was offered a drink. While he was able to partake of human food and drink, his only true nourishment came from the intake of blood which he'd already done for the evening, having his share of what he called 'blood dolls' at his disposal.
"The name's Malfoy. . . .Draco Malfoy," he replied, a light smirk barely curling the corner of his lips as he remembered that that had been the very way he'd introduced himself to Potter upon their arrival at Hogwarts in their first year. A stray strand of silvery blond hair fell haphazardly across his face as he gazed at the younger male, waiting to see if his reaction would be the same as others' had been. Fear, respect, admiration. . . .things that had since turned - for some - to disgust, hatred, and ridicule. After Draco was turned and the incident with his wife, Draco's parents, Lucius and Narcissa, had gone mad and had wound up in the psych ward at St. Mungo's. They had been the only two people he'd made sure were safe the night of the attack on the hospital. . . .the pitiful shells of the powerful people they'd once been.
Draco cleared his throat and shook off the memories that haunted him, glancing down at the bar his pale hands rested on then back up at Teddy. "Honestly though, my name isn't why I'm here, Theodore. The reason I'm here, concerns your mentor," he told him, seriousness in his tone.

"Ohhhh.... Sorry I didn't recognize you... Harry has told me stories about you from back in your school days... but I never thought I'd actually get to meet you..."
There was confusion within him as to how he should feel about Draco. Part of him was in awe at meeting another one of his godfather's classmates, but another part of him was disgusted not only at meeting a bully but at meeting a Death Eater. It had been the Death Eaters that had killed his parents and their snatchers that had killed his grandfather.
That was soon squashed by shock and concern as the man mentioned his mentor. All thoughts about Draco's past misdeeds left him as he immediately jumped to his feet.
"What's going on?"
It was semi-safe to say that Teddy was a slight workaholic and was ready to jump right into the thick of things no matter how soon he had just clocked off.

Draco couldn't help the smirk that curled the corner of his lips at Teddy's reply about how Harry had told stories about him. No doubt, they were only the bad ones - the ones where he bullied everyone and looked down on those that were less than perfect pureblood. No doubt the parts where it was found out that he did things against his will were left out. Guess high expectations from one's family didn't count as an excuse, but the things that had been expected of him. . . .that he'd been forced to do to prove himself worthy of the Malfoy name, no one ever thought of those things. No one ever seemed to think of the pressures put on him; just the little git that was the product of those pressures.
Noticing the way that Teddy jumped up from the barstool at the mention of his mention sort of shocked the vampire a little. He hadn't expect such an explosive reaction as he looked at the other from where he still sat.
"Did your mentor have any enemies? Anyone that would want to get rid of him or maybe try to get to you through him?" he asked, silvery blue eyes staring up at the younger male as lightly bit at his bottom lip, careful not to let his fangs show or let one of them pierce his bottom lip. That tended to hurt a bit when one was still getting used to having teeth sharp enough to tear through flesh.

The more Draco spoke the more emotional and irrational the young man became. He wasn't a fool. He could tell what had happened without Draco having to spell it out any further for him. Or at least... he thought he did.
"Only about a hundred or so... you know, mostly criminals and their friends and families.... Draco, what happened? Should I be concerned about my safety here?"
There was sorrow within his eyes. Sorrow, pain, anger and fear. Who was it that had killed his mentor? Was it one of the criminals that they had picked up and sent off for trial to attend Azkaban? Or was this one that his mentor had faced prior to taking him on as an apprentice for lack of a better word?
He wanted to know exactly who it was that had murdered his mentor so that he could extract his own vengeance for their great miss-deeds.
