Even before he had been changed forever, Xavier didn't like being around other people all that much. It wasn't the people he had disliked but the sheer number of them. He did fine enough when it was just him and a handful of people. Now, though even that was too much to handle for a different reason entirely. No one was really able to tell what was wrong with him since he didn't look any different than he usually did. The sun was annoying but he'd learned how to deal with that.

It was evening though and with the sun not shining so brightly, he had been able to escape down to the greenhouses. There wasn't really anyone around down there and he was able to concentrate fully on fixing up the soil for one of his plants.

Ollie, perhaps surprisingly to some of those who knew him, made his way out to the greenhouses, fairly often. He actually enjoyed working with his hands, the feeling of accomplishing something tangible, and herbology gave him that. Yes, he was vain and having dirt on his hands could bother bother him, and no, he was never incredibly motivated by his school work, but herbology was different. As Ollie approached the greenhouse he peered inside, spotting another young man. An older Hufflepuff student if Ollie wasn't mistaken. He paused watching the other. A grin stretching across his face as he did. Slowly he made his way into the building now himself. Herbology and gardening had just become secondary interests.

"Hey there." Ollie purred slightly as he entered the greenhouses, the other student looked like he was only a little more than a year older than Ollie. He wasn't too sure of any details about the other, though. He didn't really know name, or age. There was an easy fix to that. Ollie considered the older more attractive man as he offered how own name "I'm Ollie Long." He said, gently as he set himself to pottering lightly around the greenhouse, his attention obviously lingering on the brunette boy. He wasn't good at hiding it when he found another male attractive, but he also wasn't quite ready to drop the pretence entirely.


"How's things, man?" Ollie asked the other, in a friendly tone.

Considering Xavier practically lived in the greenhouses, he somewhat recognized the boy that had come in. He hadn't really spoken to him before. He was immediately on edge. He was nowhere close to being used to being around other people and there were some students in the school that smelled especially delicious. A thought that always made him nauseous.

"Hello," he said since discomfort tended to lose out to Xav's generally friendly personality. "Xavier Gladstone," he offered in return as he returned his attention to his task, oblivious to the fact that the other boys attention was still on him. He looked up again when Ollie spoke once more.

How was he even supposed to answer that? Things were horrible but it wasn't like he wanted people to know what he was. Not when he hated being it. "All right, I suppose. I'm where I'm happiest so can't get better."

Ollie watched the other work for a moment - or more accurately he watched him while he was working. He was checking Xavier out, more or less openly. This wasn't unusual for Ollie. at all. Indeed, unusual would probably have been just to leave the attractive male to his gardening. That, of course, wasn't going to happen.Ollie had noticed that the other seemed a little on edge, even if he was being friendly. He wasn't sure why that might be. Did Ollie make Xavier uneasy because of something about him? He didn't get the impression that Xavier was a blood purist, or a homophobe, so he didn't quite know what to make of that uncertainty.

"You seem a little on edge?" Ollie questioned. It was somewhere between a casual greeting and a flirtatious purr. He wasn't trying to make the other uncomfortable, because he wasn't a complete jerk, he was very interested in making a move none the less. Indeed, this was just who Ollie was. "Want me to get out of your way?" He asked a little reluctantly a slight frown crossing his lips, and turning to a pout. He found himself moving right up next to Xavier. "Or, I could give you a hand with the plants?" He asked gently. Ollie watched the other for his reactions, hoping that this just might go somewhere. He had hungry eyes for Xavier.
