This year had not been kind to him. He had been expelled from school, but despite the fact that he had a place of work that had welcomed him with open arms he still wasn't happy. To be honest he was struggling. Struggling to come to terms with the monster that lurked beneath his skin and that had taken at least one life too soon.

Today was meant to be just another day at work, ensuring that those who drunk too much didn't ruin the business' integrity but to be fair it was actually fairly quiet today. Apparently criminals weren't at work today which left him with a bit of a dilemma. He was there for the security of the paying patrons, yet there were no paying patrons and no other duties that he could be performing.

With two of them on duty today he moved slightly away from his post, taking a seat at a table near the door. 

"Think we'll get any busier today Eli?"

Eli had never thought about his job in the same way. La Aguja never had showed too many signs of having integrity to ruin - except in the way Vasco did business, discreetly. That was his job, to keep the troublemakers out and anyone who wanted to run off and talk in. vasco had bluntly told him this much when he had naievely asked about what his goals on the job should be when he first picked it up. Eli had no illusions even from the start that the place he was working in wasn't unsavoury, dangerous, even; But, the thing was that he needed the money and a little excitement went al ong way for someone like Elijah. Of course there were days when excitement was hard to come by here. The place was named The Needle and Vasco had said that was because he always intended it to be a well-kept secret, as hard to find as a needle in a haystack.

Elijah saw his coworker step away from his position and he followed suit. there was nothing unscrupulous to be seen today, anyway. Sitting across the table from the handsome former slytherin, Eli shook his head. "Maybe tonight we'll start seeing some action, but honestly I doubt we'll see anyone for another couple hours." he answered, not meeting the other's eyes. Not because he had some trouble with eye contact, or because he washy. But because his own dark brown orbs were wandering taking in Lambert's form.

Eli leaned against the table and looked over to the other. "So, you got a girlfriend?" It was a question meant to pry. He avoided mentioning the possibility of a partner the same sex as himself out of cunning. To make this sound more like work place talk so that he could lead Lamb down the trail he was hoping he would follow nice and slowly. He'd seen Lamb look at customers male and female alike. His gaze only followed men, but he wasn't sure if Lamb had picked up on that. This would be an interesting chance to find out.

To be perfectly honest, Lamb didn't make it his business to know who was checking out who. So of course, he wouldn't know that Eli was only into men... or even how to tell when he was checking out a potential suitor. He fiddled with a knot in the wood as he tried not to laugh at the man's question.

"Im a murderous monster Elijah... or at least that's what the Ministry want people to think of me as despite being innocent... who would want to date that?"

A seemingly innocent conversation was fast opening the massive seeping wound that was his poor mental state.  Despite his turning and expulsion having been so long ago there was still a massive hole in his pride and self-esteem over the whole incident which was causing him to act anything but the innocent man that he was.

Elijah looked away to conceal his rolling eyes at the melodramatic response that Lambert gave him. He honestly found the fact that Lamb was condemning himself like that to be insane. He couldn't help what he had done on that first full moon and ever since then he would surely have had easy access to Wolfsbane potion. The boss had to be paying for that, right? There's no way Vasco Reyes would want to risk having a rampaging werewolf run through knockturn, and Diagon Alleys. Eli looked back to the other now, making eye contact.

"You mean you were turned against your will and you killed someone when you had no control. Have you noticed that you're not in Azkaban, Lamb?" He said with an edge of irritation but hopefully not enough to start a fight. "I get that you feel like a monster but the fact is you couldn't help it and I'm sure you'd never do it, usually." He said honestly. He'd been around Lambert for a while, and he hadn't gotten the feeling that the other was particularly violent, or awful, even if working for Vasco meant doing some unsavoury things. "I'm sure plenty of people want you, you're a handsome guy."

The comment was meant to be innocent enough, but also to measure the other's response. He had no doubt that Lamb would argue the point that he was some sort of monster but Elijah wasn't too bothered. He could have that opinion if he was that obsessed with self hate, Eli would still try to get his interest.

He couldn't help but snort at Elijah's question. Snort and roll his eyes whilst he was looking at the table of course. He was trying hard not to laugh at the man's question. What did he think that he was? Some sort of chick magnet or something?

"About as many as termites...."

He scratched at the table, attempting to get rid of a piece of stuck on food, his foot slipping randomly causing him to accidentally kick the man across from him. It was not at all intentional but this was something that could possibly effect their relationship.
