Too Much Time On My Hands [NIVEN]

Was it her? Or were things getting harder as the term came closer to ending? Katherine was having a bit of trouble controlling her thirst as well as her hormones. Every time she was in class she would give her best friend passing glances. Katherine had promised herself that she would never hurt him. That's why she had to put distance between them, but it was getting harder.

Class ended and she picked up her books and quickly headed for the exit. One of her female friends called for her, but she continued walking. She was scared that if she stopped that she would end up draining someone of their blood. Katherine made her way up the stairs until she was at her favorite spot in the entire school. Her hiding spot... the clock tower.

Katherine dropped her books and her bag in a corner as she bent down to search her bag for the blood bag that was in there. It was her lunch. As soon as she found it she began drinking from it. She moaned in delight from how wonderful it tasted, but when she turned she almost dropped the bag. Niven was standing there. Why? Had he followed her?

Niven wasn't sure what was going on with Katharine. Had he done something to upset her somehow? Was she angry because he'd hooked up with Gemma Valentine among a couple other people? He wasn't exactly a monogamous soul. Not yet, anyway. Wanting to know what was going on with her, he followed after her when class ended.

He wasn't expecting to see her moaning in delight about drinking blood. It explained so much at once, really. "Oh. I - why didn't you tell me?" Niven asked, not quite sure what the proper procedure was for these sorts of things.

This wasn’t the way she wanted to tell Niven. Of course if Kat had it her way he would have never known and they would have just gone seperate ways when she graduated. Even if that wasn’t what she really wanted.

Kat stood there unsure of what to say. How was she supposed to answer that? What hadn’t she told him? ”I was scared of hurting you.” she said softly. There was a possibility that he didn’t hear hear, but maybe that was just her being hopeful. ”I’m a vampire.” There. She told him. It was late and at this point a bit unnecessary, but she needed to hear herself say it. Katherine was a vampire. It wasn’t by choice, but it was the life she was forced to live because even didn’t want to face death.

Slowly, Katherine brought the bag back up to her lips and slowly drank from the bag. It wasn’t the sight she wanted Niven to see, but it was better than her attempting to sink her teeth into him. ”Are you mad at me?” she asked him once she moved the bag away for a moment. She had kept such a big secret from him and for awhile. I hope he doesn’t hate me? Or... think I’m a monster.. Her eyes glanced down at the now half empty bag of blood.

Well, yeah. The fact that she was a vampire was obvious unless she was just a whackjob that liked blood. "Why would I be mad at you?" Niven asked, genuinely perplexed. "It's not like you could have avoided it." It was solely the fault of whoever had done this to her. "I just wish you had told me so I could help you somehow." Not that he knew what he really could have done. Niven knew enough of vampires to know that newborn ones were generally all about the blood.
