Nyaja returned from the Hufflepuff training. They were a fun team but still needed a drill. Especially Mitch as much as she liked the guy, he just wasn’t that good. But she wouldn't kick him out just like that. So she’d drill him so he’d at least stop enough so they could win. After a long work out, she felt like relaxing and who better to relax with than her new baby sister. Ever since she met J.D. life had been more colourful. Usually she had only male friends as most girls didn’t want her around for some reason. But Jess welcomed her.


She was still dressed in the yellow Hufflepuff Quidditch robes as she strolled down to their usual hanging place. J.D was already there and nobody else. Good, Nyaja would have chased them away if they were. “Sorry for the wait and the smell,” the short haired girl climbed into the boat where her sister by marriage sat. She stepped in and wrapped his arms around the blonde, looking over her shoulder at what she was doing. “Oehh what do you have there? A new magical item? Did you make that yourself?”

J.D. had been hanging out in Ravenclaw tower, tinkering with her omnioculars, when the smoke within her rememberall had began to swirl red. Crap! Nyaja had to be heading for the boat house. Jess snatched up the omnioculars and the rememberall, stuffing the latter into her pocket and wearing the former around her neck as she hastily took off. The boathouse could be a little chilly sometimes but frankly that wasn't on Jess' mind. She raced her way through sseveral floors of castle and soon found herself passing by the kitchens. and opened up to arrive at the boat house...

She'd run all the way down here and Nyaja wasn't here yet. training must have run a bit long. She was simultaneously annoyed that she had forgotten herself, and relieved that she hadn't missed out on seeing her step-sister. J.D. sat beside the inlet to the lake, her hand running across the water. J.D. sighed a little catching her breath after her long run. She wasn't out of shape, but that long a run was enough to wear her out. She took a couple of deep breaths, fiddling with her omnioculars. She wanted to tweak them just a little. She had a long term goal of reprogramming them to read lips, as opposed to just providing quidditch play-by-play.

As Nya questioned her omnioculars a smirk crossed her lips and her immersion was broken. "Same set I've been working on for a while... I had this crazy idea about configuring them so they could read lips... maybe identify spells, as well as just quidditch plays.If I could get them to do it, I think I could make a lot of money." She said proud of her creative side in this moment. "So. How was Quidditch training? Are Hufflepuff winning the cup this year?" She asked playfully. Slowly she got to her feet and moved a little closer to her step-sister. She loved that they had this secret, intimate sort of place. J.D. hadn't admitted it, but she was into Nya hard.

"Ohhh! That sounds cool," she mused as she watched her step-sister work on her objects. "How do you plan to make that work?" The Hufflepuff gently poked the device and tilted her head. Curious little devices, J.D. was quite creative. "In quidditch plays? How could you use them in those?" Nyaja loved hearing the other speak of things she was passionate about. Which was why Nyaja always asked a lot. That and she was curious what the other was doing.

The short haired girl snorted and shook her head with a chuckle. "No chance for that we'd have to replace a few players with the reserves. But I'm not one to let down a team member, ya know? It's more about having a good time. Not that we don't try to improve, we all work hard," she smiled and looked at Jess as she came closer. "Are you cold?" The Hufflepuff took off her training jacket and placed it over her little sister's shoulders before she rubbed them. She shot a charming grin sideways and leaned against her shoulder as she watched the blonde work on her devices.

"Omniocculars are made for high end quidditch" She explained. "They're made so that they can explain the plays being made as you watch the game through them - which means there's definitely a charm for it. It's just a matter of finding out how to adapt that to more general use. I'm betting that the charm itself isn't specific to Quidditch."she said eagerly. She really wanted to do this. she was certain the Ministry of Magic would buy sets of modified omniocculars for all of their Aurors and witch-watchers.

J.D. accepted the jacket gratefully, smiling to Nyaja. "Thanks, Ny." She told her gently as she fiddled with her Omniocculars for a while, before setting them down in one of the nearby boats. The blonde looked up at her sister and bit her lip slightly. "Honestly, my money's on Gryffindor." She said honestly The Ravenclaw team hadn't particularly impressed her either. She had some loyalty to her own house but she wasn't delusional. "That said, I think you're a shoe-in for second place, captain." She said playfully, her tone of voice was almost flirty despite the innocence of the comment. As she pulled on the other's jacket, she noted that it smelled like her. that was a pleasant smell. she held it closely around herself, grinning.
