What A View [Camilla]

Harriet was glad she had gotten used to an early morning schedule. She had needed it for what she was going to pull off. Leaving Cam snuggled up in bed. It wasn't that unsual for her to leave her girlfriend for a little while early in the morning to exercise, and that's all she'd let on that she was doing this time.  Harriet had gotten up  dressed in her usual work out attire and made her way down to the beach they had chosen to vacation to.  It was a lovely beach and today was bright and sunny, just right. She had worked for most of the morning on her plan, glad that this little stretch of beach wasn't frequented by muggles at all. Nobody would disturb her work here. She'd worked hard, even with magic she wanted to bee exact with this. Harriet wasn't a perfectionist but this was something that meant a lot to her... All up the process had taken her close to an hour of careful spell craft, along with a few charms to make sure her work wouldn't be disturbed.

Then she double-checked. The cliff she had picked out was definitely going to work.  That made her grin even before she saw Camilla's reaction. She wouldn't let herself be nervous right now. Now it was on to phase two of the plan. Harriet made her way to a handful of little muggle stores, cafes, grocery places, and bakeries, building a picnic for the pair's breakfast, and finally, with a basket full to the brim with treats, she made her way back to the hotel,  She was almost changed out of her work out attire when she heard Camilla stir. She checked the pocket of her jeans to make sure it was still there, it was . It was now or never and Harriet couldn't let herself be flustered.

"Morning, gorgeous."  Harriet said as she crawled over to her partner, placing a gentle kiss on her lips, and brushing a lock of silver hair from her face. "Having good dreams? I hope." She teased   resting her head against the other woman's shoulder for just a moment before she got back up. "So... I got a picnic together, and apparently the view from up on the cliffs is really lovely. Shall we?" She asked, hoping that Cam would say yes. Of course she doubted the other was likely to refuse her attempts at little romantic gestures - even if there was something more here. Harriet hoped that Camilla didn't realise something was up, but they had known each other two years and Camilla was a smart woman.

Harriet was already retrieving a blanket to use for the picnic.

A holiday was just what Camilla needed. Soon she would hear whether or not she managed to stay a healer and be an actual employee instead of an intern. The girl was truly nervous about it but the vacation with Harriet was beyond perfect and away from all the issues in England. Even in this season people looked weird at homosexual couples but Camilla had nothing but love to share with Harriet. 

The young metamorphmagus was curled up in bed dreaming the sweetest dreams that turned her hair into a shade of silver. It was what always happened when she dreamed, day or night. The kiss on her lips made Camilla smile and want to lean into Harriet. Her bright blue eyes looked up at her girlfriend who seemed quite excited for an early morning. 

Camilla was not so much a morning person. "Mmm good morning." she hummed and rolled on her side to look at Harriet. "Yeah I dreamed about you." Camilla giggled a bit and sat up slowly. "Mmm that sounds amazing.. let me get a shower first though."

Physical closeness with Cam felt incredible to Harriet. At this point she felt so much love and adoration for the other. Just having her around was heavenly. If nothing else happened, Harriet was just grateful to share this time with Camilla. It didn't matter how anyone looked at them or what anyone thought. When Harriet was with Cam she felt like she was flying. No problem mattered and nothing kept her down for long. Harriet wanted to make sure that that would last forever. Harriet let Cam sit up and just watched her for a moment. "Absolutely, honey." She said gently, returning to sit on the bed. Harriet was confident that her charms would hold up, and her plan wouldn't go to waste.

She leaned down to her sitting girlfriend and kissed her once more, just a quick, affectionate peck on the lips just now. "Maybe you can tell me all about that dream while we walk?" She teased the other gently, Harriet didn't know about the sort of content that dream may have held, but it was in her nature to be playful none the less. Harriet watched the other waiting with baited breath for her. It wasn't until Harriet heard the sound of shower water that she allowed herself a moment to just flop onto the bed and take a few deep breaths. What she was about to do was daunting, even if she thought she knew how it would go.

It wasn't long before the couple were hand in hand making their way up the slope that lead to the cliff. They'd been in a sweet little mostly muggle village. Harriet was largely ignorant to the looks that the pair may have received. she was more than glad that here she wasn't a celebrity. Right now she wanted to focus purely on Camilla.  After all what else could possibly matter? Harriet might have been oddly quiet during the walk, she had butterflies in her stomach right now. and she was trying hard to convince herself that this would be okay.  Still even throughout that uncertainty she stayed close to Cam, kept an eye on her, squeezed her hand. If anyone where staring they wouldn't see anything but a proud and loving all-female couple.

Camilla showered as fast as she could thinking about the picnic she was going to have with Harriet. She had no idea what was going to happen there and never really had a picnic before so the young girl was beyond excited. With an excited smile the woman got out of the shower, dressed and ready to go out with Harriet to wherever she wanted to take her. 

"So I dreamed about our first Christmas together." she chuckled and sighed. "It was fun but you couldn't bake at all.. can you bake?" she asked and cocked her head to the side. The blonde walked with Harriet and realized how quiet she was. "Hey are you alright?" she asked and squeezed Harriet's hand a little. 

"Where are we going?"

Harriet listened as Camilla described her dream - She did know how to cook a little. After all Tye couldn't do all the work, especially not before he'd turned 17 and been able to use magic around the kitchen legally. She'd never been amazing at it but she could cook a little. She laughed. "Yeah, I can bake. I had to learn pretty young." She said, not really too upset at discussing the negligence she'd endured. it was a part of her life at this point. Normal. She knew it wasn't the experience most people had, that the treatment she received was horrid, but it was all she'd known growing up. Part of why she was anxious right now was that actually, Getting out of that situation once and for all.

Cam asked her if she was alright. What was she supposed to say... She was nervous, she had butterflies in her stomach still. Harriet squeezed down on Camilla's hand and smiled to her. "As long as you're here, I'll be okay." She said gently and lovingly to the other woman, still leading the way up the incline. Soon they could see the ledge. "Just up here, there's an absolutely incredible view I want to show you. I think you'll really like it." Her comment was obtuse and her nerves were doing her no favours. Still she leaned over and kissed her girlfriend's cheek hoping that everything would be okay

Once they'd arrived, Harriet didn't waste much time. "Why don't you go take a look at the view. I'll set up the picnic." She asked gently her heart was pounding a mile a minute but it was too late not to do this now. Camilla was going to see the intent either way. She waited until her girlfriend was approaching the cliff face, safely railed off as it was before she reached into her pocket and produced the engagement ring. taking a few steps forward before she dropped to her knee. The message was written there in the sand, "Will you marry me?" as plain as day Charmed so that the waves wouldn't wash it away, and that parts of it would glitter slightly, to draw Cam's attention. Nobody was up here aside from the two of them, and for a moment the world was just them. Harriet, kneeling, nervous and excited and boiling over with love, and Cam. Before her answer, Harriet would have given anything to know what she was thinking.

Harriet had proposed after only a couple of months it was true, however as she knelt holding the wedding ring. White gold, and diamond. A very classic, very beautiful ring, she knew she was doing the right thing. Harriet had never been incredibly traditional, she'd always bucked trends and been happy with that, but she wanted the ring to be something she could be sure Harriet would approve of. It probably wasn't long at all, but it felt like hours for Harriet. What was going to happen here?

Camilla noticed the nervous tension between them and wondered if Harriet was alright. She didn't look alright even when she said she was. The blonde got a bit nervous about that and just silently walked with her not sure what to say but did give her a supportive smile. Her light eyes looked around and eyed the cliff. 

"Oh that is high." so maybe she was scared of heights? The blonde was told to check the view out and she did even though she felt like fainting because heights were really not her thing whatsoever. Her eyes turned slightly brown as she moved closer to the edge and became bright blue when she saw the view. 

"Wow I.." she then looked down at the sparkling sand and her eyes grew. Was she interrupting someone? What if they shouldn't be here? What if this was Harriet.. was she nervous because of this? Camilla had a million questions and turned to look at Harriet sitting on one knee. 

"Oh Harriet.." she whispered and walked up to her before getting on her own knees. "Yes.."

Oh god. She'd forgotten Camilla's fear of heights... She felt gutted for a moment. She'd ruined this whole thing with that? She hated in that moment that she'd made such a stupid mistake. That just added to the agony of the situation, waiting for an answer. Her eyes took took in the sight of the gorgeous blonde girl looking out over the sea and the sand. Harriet saw her head turn as she took in the message. Cam had the power in this moment to break Harriet's heart and Harriet wouldn't even have blamed her. What a stupid mistake to ruin a perfect moment... But it didn't.

Even having asked, Harriet had no idea what to expect She knew she wanted this badly, but she also knew that Camilla was dealing with so much inner turmoil lately that this may not have been thee best time. Honestly, though she couldn't even consider the prospect of waiting any longer. She had proposed early beecause she'd known even before the relationship that she'd wanted this. She'd been in love for years. When Camilla finally turned to face her, and Harriet saw that look of amazement on her face, all her fear, all her uncertainty evaporated. Harriet could have cried tears of joy, but finally she slid that engagement ring onto her new fiancee's finger. In fact as she embraced Camilla she did. She couldn't hide how joyous this was.

"Thank you so much." She said gently. She didn't know how it was she deserved to spend her life with this beautiful, sweet woman but she did, apparently. After all, Camilla was the only person who could judge that. As Harriet cried, smiling brightly she got to her feet, still reluctant to let the other go, and kissed her. full of love and passion, her eyes closing, her hand running gently through Cam's hair, this was a dream come true and nothing could ever mean more to her than this. "I love you so much, Camilla Evans." she murmured against the other's lips.

In that moment it was just the two of them, it felt like the world didn't exist any longer. The war was out of her mind and the fact that she was now going to be with Harriet forever made the girl smile from ear to ear. Her eyes were on the ring, it was the most gorgeous ring she had ever seen. 

"It's beautiful.." she couldn't believe it and she had to get Harriet a ring too. The blonde's mind was going into a million places but as soon as she felt the ring on her finger and Harriet's lips touching hers her mind went blank. This was complete bliss and Camilla wanted to make the most of it. 

"I love you too.. so much." she said, tears of joy rolling down her pale cheeks. "So so much." she then cuddled up to Harriet, kissing her neck.

For a while, Harriet just stood rooted to the pot holding Cam close, head cocked to the side as the other's lips lingered on her neck. What was the world right now? What did anything matter? They were engaged. Forever started now, in Harriet's mind. The wedding would be beautiful she was sure, it would be a celebration of everything the two women had ever shared between them, but really Camilla had given her intent to be with Harriet forever. This moment mattered more to her than anything she would ever experience. Harriet was sure that if she ever needed to conjure a patronus in future, this was the memory she would look back on. But time was nothing anymore. The heat of the summer sun, the wind... Nothing meant a thing, except for Camilla Evans.

"I suppose we do still need to eat eventually." She managed to joke, still crying just slightly. Slowly, reluctantly Harriet pulled herself away and smiled, returning to the task she had claimed she was going to do to begin with. as she unpacked the spread she'd prepared and arranged it her eyes almost never left her fiance. It wasn't long before a small feast was arranged on the blanket before them, Harriet sat back to let Cam have the first pick of food. She looked up at the sky, breaking her eye contact with Camilla for for the first extended time since the proposal, and breathed a happy sigh. She reached for the other's hand, hating the idea of being out of contact with her in this moment.

"I don't know what I did to deserve you, but I'm glad to have you in my life." she told the other quietly before pulling her into a quick hug. Harriet may have been hungry, and she knew that Cam must have been too, but once this was over, she wanted to lay here in the shade with Cam and just hold her, or go and walk on the beach with her. From that day on the blonde was to be the center of Harriet's world, and nothing would ever change that.

Camilla was beyond happy and the day just started. She wondered if there was a jewelry store close by. The blonde eyed the food and grabbed a few strawberries, nibbling on the delicious fruit. She really loved this and the girl was starving. "This is so perfect." she said with a bright smile and finished her food. 

"I never regret once saying hi to you and having coffee with you that day in the hospital. It lead to something very amazing." she said with a giggle and kissed Harriet's hand. The day was still young and she was sure Harriet could take her to town so she could buy her fiancee a ring. 

It was funny to think that she was actually engaged. "What do you want to do?"

Harriet considered what her life would have been like for a moment without Camilla. It was weird to think about - way she had met the other was tragic in truth, her brother needing medical help after what her father had done to him. If Harriet's life had been good, if she'd been treated well as a child, and her parents had been good to her, then she wouldn't know Camilla now. They'd have spent years living under the same roof at school, and never really spoken. If every cloud had a silver lining, then Camilla was Harriet's. But she was so much more than that. It felt like destiny, she had endured so much and seen the people she loved suffer for so long, but all of it had lead to Camilla. Now she was going to move into the second phase of her life.Marriage to this angel.

Soon she heard Cam speaking and it broke her out of her thoughts, she looked over smiling. "It did... I still don't understand how I got this lucky." She said quietly, and gently, before she reached over to the other and took her hand, raising it to her lips and kissing it gently. "I love you, Cam." She knew she would say that a thousand times today, but it wouldn't mean less to her if it was repeated. It was just a simple, beautiful fact. Every time Harriet saw her bride-to-be her heart skipped a beat. She hoped they never lost that feeling but she couldn't see how they would.

When Cam asked her what she wanted do that was her first taste of reality for a while. "I suppose at some stage we should go into town, but I'd love to go and walk on the beach with you, take you out to dinner later... Maybe even head back to the hotel room and just have a little private time." She answered. There was a lightly flirty edge to her voice as she made that last suggestion, before she kissed her fiance, a hand running through the metamorphmagus' blonde hair.

Camilla couldn't feel happier and every moment of this day felt like a blessing on its own. Her light eyes were on her fiancee who's smile made her smile. Everything fell into place whenever she was with Harriet. "Me too." she didn't know what she did to deserve someone like Harriet in her life but the past two years all she wanted was to say how she felt and now they were together and to be married. 

Were they moving too fast? maybe but she loved every moment of it. "I love you too." she meant it and would never get sick of saying or hearing it. Cam would do anything, sure she wanted to explore and get Harriet her ring but she also wanted to just spend time with her in a romantic setting of their choosing. 

"Everything sounds perfect." Camilla managed to say before kissing Harriet  back. Yes she was a virgin but she didn't want to wait until marriage, she wanted to have Harriet close.

The idea that they were moving too fast was a strange one to Harriet. She was reacting to emotion she was doing what felt right. The moment seemed to make sense and so she made her move. She wished she had found the right time to speak up years earlier, she wished she wished this time had come sooner and she would never regret proposing. She wanted to be with Camilla forever and nothing would ever get in the way of that. As Harriet ate she considered what to do next, where to take Cam. She felt like the engagement ring was obligatory. A must. She wanted something to commemorate her union as well, but at the same time she wanted to get that part of it out of the way. She wanted time to spend with Cam, doing what the two of them wanted to do, not what they needed to do as part of the engagement.

"Maybe we should start by taking a little walk on the beach, then we head into town for you to grab a ring?" At that point she kissed Cam again a hand running through her hair, as she scooched in a little closer to her bride-to-be. "After that, we head back to the hotel and have a little alone time before I take you out to dinner?" She suggested this particular plan for the day. She was eager to spend as much time with her lover as possible. She wanted to make Camilla feel good, and she'd be kidding herself to think to say she didn't want something for herself as well. Still as she looked into the beautiful blonde's eyes, she found that only Camilla really mattered.

The picnic would be over quickly at this rate. Cam was a light eater and Harriet was eager to get moving, and get on with this great day.
