Mekhi sat in his office at Honeydukes going through some paperwork for orders, sales the from week, and other important things he knew he needed to get done. He should have been doing this through the week, that way, it didn't pile up on him at the end of the week and become an overwhelming mess. But, that was the thing; Mekhi was a bit of a procrastinator, and things just got pushed to the side for other, more interesting things. He really needed to learn to prioritize instead of just flitting from one thing to another, and he vowed to not let his weekly paperwork get this behind and disorganized.
He laid his quill down for a moment, two fingers rubbing at the bridge of his nose in an attempt to release some of the tension that was building up; he'd never been good with dealing with such tedious things as the weekly paperwork. Bringing his hand down to rest on the desk, Mekhi lifted his gaze to look out into the shop, a smile on his face as he watched the business in the main area. It was a bit of a slow day since it wasn't the weekend yet, so the Hogwarts students weren't swarming the village and it's shops yet, but that was why he was getting his paperwork done today. He'd be able to mingle with the customers with that mess out of the way.
That's when he caught a glimpse of his newest employee, Ezra; a warm smile curled the corners of his lips as he gazed at the younger male. He had such a crush on the other, but he wasn't sure how obvious it was to him. He'd been to the Hogwarts graduation to see Ezra graduate, and he'd given the younger a place to stay, giving him the spare room in his home to stay in, and he'd told him that he was welcome to stay as long as he wished. For the moment though, he simply sat there and admired the young man, a warm smile on his face.

The tall, dark haired youth chuckled lightly as he watched one of the customer's eyes light up at the sight of the candy he had created the other day. Truth be told, he had not been all that certain that the candy would go over well with the customers. Poor Ezra wasn't comfortable putting it on the floor but Mekhi seemed very certain that it would do well. Now - seeing the customer's face - he couldn't help but wonder why he didn't end up trusting the other guy more. After all, the owner of Honeydukes had done many things for the youth already. The last he had ever asked was for a place to stay... but then again, he hated the idea of seeing his father's disappointed face daily when he got up.
Pushing sour thoughts to the side, Ezra helped the customer to order several pieces of his homemade candy. Waving as they exited the shop, he then made his way around to help "fluff" - as he put it - up the candy so as to draw in other customers, especially with as few that come in during the week. Truth be told, the youth didn't really mind these sorts of days. There was a sense of calmness in the shop that seemed to help his creative juices to flow through his veins and come up with even more ideas to draw more eyes to the shop. Really... who knew he was meant for the candy business?
Feeling eyes on him, the youth turned his head to look up towards the office that he knew Mekhi was working in. It was hard to tell from this angle if the owner was actually looking at him. Was it bad to think that the guy was?
It seemed like the longer that they worked around one another, the more comfortable he seemed to grow with the other man. There were times when Mekhi's back was turned and Ezra couldn't help checking the guy out. Mekhi was a very attractive man to look at. Women liked to crowd around him, especially those that came in during the weekend. Sometimes it drove Ezra absolutely insane which is why he usually chooses to work in the back while the Hogwarts students roam about the shop.
Ah jealousy. It was both a new and cruel emotion for the growing young man.
