Though she loved her father and would have loved to have spent christmas at home this year Lulu had made the decision to stay at school. It was her last year at school and she wanted to spend and soak up as much time as she could before finishing up. She also had a ton of homework to complete and if she had gone home she doubted that would get any of it done.
It wasn’t like she was getting any of it done anyway. The room was rather somber as both the Head Mistress and their Head of House, Professor Appleyard had come down to the common room and informed them of the disappearance of a first year Mateo Delacour. Both of them were naturally upset but there was something in particular about the look on Professor Appleyards face that bothered Lulu. She couldn’t place what that was however and her thoughts seemed to always return to it.
She only vaguely recalled the boy as she had shown the first years to the common room. He was rather cute and good on a broomstick, she had heard. There was also a rumour that his father was Victor Krum but she didn’t put much store in rumours and had been meaning to ask him. She felt bad that she had not spent any time with him to see how he was doing.
Sighing she closed the book that was in front of her and put her head in her hands.
