 His mother and father was out of the country, leaving the rest of the family to fend for themselves. For Yorick of course, this meant that he was spending the time here at Hogwarts. In fact it was something encouraged by his father… given the fact that he was facing O.W.L examinations and all. So that was exactly what the fifteen year old was doing… until he heard these abnormal scurrying sounds.
He tried to push through these sounds, believing at first that they were just the scratching noises of a pen, but when they only seemed to grow louder and closer, he chose to investigate these sounds, abandoning the History of Magic essay (that had already put him to sleep multiple times) in order to try and find what it was that was distracting him.
He must have looked like a fool for he was the only one scouring the room with a visibly furrowed brow.
